There is intense minerality to this on the palate and given this is a trocken bottling, slightly more mouth puckering acidity (but with a slightly sweet finish to balance it out). This wine showed incredibly well and surprised us all, and frankly if you pulled this out on a blind tasting with several of their pedigreed neighbors it might not be as clear cut of a difference as you think. Obviously, Keller is still king, but I think Seehof is severely underrated for what it currently goes for. |

3/15/2024 - Hillionaire Likes this wine: 95 pointsWhat a beast. The Westhofen sites are some of my absolute favorites, and the Morstein is usually leading the pack. Seehof is mostly overlooked when it comes to the top Westhofen producers, which is a grave mistake in my opinion. Florians Morstein Riesling is always of great structure, with high complexity and a deep, stony minerality. In it's youth it is always a harsh, mineral and acidity driven wine, very often muted and therefore not very exciting, but with time it evolves into a perfectly classic, harmonious Westhofen Riesling by the book. 2 people found this helpful, do you? This is my third of four, having had one each year for the previous three; there's been a little bottle variation, but on balance this is very good and nicely dry. I love the med+ body, focused acids, mid-palate energy and weight, long finish, etc. Remains very fresh with no sign of decline. Very good on its own, even better with food. 13,5% abv. highly recommended |

1/14/2021 - Putnam Weekley Likes this wine: NR10% vol. AP15, $20 in MI. The nose is filled with smoldering flint, chipped stone sensations. Lemon oil, vigorous spring mints and fescues, A mouthful is sweet, glycerin, and grippy. Crystalline transparency. A little rivulet of glacial salt melting down through the middle. Green apples, crumbled cobbles bleached in the sun, sticky roots. Very damn good. (I attribute faint notes of chewable vitamins and English muffins to a lees/ester/reduction complex that is sure to be transient.) |

12/3/2023 - FDP Likes this wine: 86 pointsWell have to say that from my perspective the wine still do great upon opening the wine and drinking it on day one. On day 2 i think it starts to loose some of its magic that was a great freshness / acidity and paired with some apple notes. On day 2 it has some acidity but the sweet apple notes are gone....had the wine in Grassl Mineralite and the white wine glass. So if you have the wine i think its time to drink it....as i dont think it will hold 3 years. |

The intensity is BIG. The taste is full but lush with tons of freshness. So much structure!.. Citrus, grape, mint, salt, apples and powdered chalk oozes from the glass. Wow, this is really good. |
