Drinking really good right now - with a nice balance in the mouth and on the finish. The fruit is at a point where I would aim to consume any bottles you have in the next 2-3 years at most.

Consumed at cellar temperature (55 degrees). Pear and banana on the nose, which has a bit too much alcohol for my liking. The oak is also fairly prominent. The pear also comes through on the palate, which has a nice oak balance and good acidity. Not as much fruit as I expect. Seems a bit lacking in depth. A decent bottle, but poor QPR.

I'm not very good at this but here goes....sour cherry with a bit of oak on the nose. After 30 mins to let it breath, it's got some great weight (not heavy) and I get this fascinating cedar wood component on the mid-palate. Really interesting Pinot Noir.

Better than expected at this age. Red berry, plum, graphite, and spice combine for a very pleasing finish.

PnP. Medium red with some clearing on the rim. Intense nose of red fruits which is echoed on the palate with strawberries, cherries, and crunchy red apple. Finish is less interestingly - some alcohol and unintegrated oak definitely pokes through. Will see how it does with air and roast chicken. Actually gets worse with time and good - more out of balance with more heat. Very disappointing.

Showing very well at the moment. Nearly mature, with all elements in balance, and secondary notes coming into play. Ready to go now, but will make sure to hold my last two bottles for the next 5 years or so, as the Weir bottlings tend to age well.

14.3% alcohol. For a pinot, this pours noticeably deeper and darker in complexion. Aromatically, the wine offers up black and red cherry, raspberry, sandalwood, potpourri, and a rather pronounced oak derived coconut oil/vanilla bean quality that eventually blew off/integrated into the wine with about an hour of aeration. In the mouth, rich, concentrated, layered, and ripe with gobs of dark red fruits. Long, expansive, juicy, full, and slightly warming finish.

barely translucent and inky purple in the glass. The nose is full of blue and black fruit with pepper and spice. This is really drinking well with fine tannins after an hour or two after opening. Finish is very pleasing at around 30 seconds. I would enjoy now with an hour or two decant or wait a couple of years...either way you won't be disappointed. Also was much better around low 60's and not at cellar temp. Enjoy!

This is even much better on day 2 with the nose far more aromatic. I would seriously wait a couple of years as I think time in the bottle will make this far better. If you open now give it at least 2-3 hours in a decanter. Try a taste each hour and you'll see what I mean.

Opulent nose of red fruits. Deep color. Full body, with lots of red cherries, with a hint of sweetness. Medium+ finish. New world style Pinot.

Dinner with Poonam and Ritu (Fremont, CA): Pale ruby; bright ripe red fruits, very slightly brambly; palate is light bodied, red fruit, good approachable structure; short finish. Very nice but not distinctive. 89-90

Excellent! Bracing acidity contrasting bright cherry fruit with root beer spices, smoke and minerality on the palate made for a joyous bottle. The nose was just as interesting. Drinking perfectly right now.

Spicy nose (mostly cola but also some pencil eraser and floral notes). Wine was on the darker, full bodied side with cola flavor predominating. There was a sweet, candied fruit (?pineapple) presence and some heat on a moderate finish. Actually went well with a rhubarb chutney.

Paper filtered and decanted leaving a base of sediment and pebbles in the filter and yielding a brilliant ruby liquor with fresh aromas of ripe red fruits and an undercurrent of bramble. Perhaps because we'd just finished a bottle of 2004 Ken Wright Guadaloupe Pinot Noir which was mind-blowingly good, and, because we'd had solo bottle of this a week or so ago, it didn't seem as intensely flavored as the first bottle obviously had. Yes, there was an explosive quality to the palate, and the bright fruit and underlying acidity made the wine luscious and mouth watering (literally), but the magic of the underlying dried strawberry sensibility which the first bottle had just wasn't there. A good wine, but, the other bottle was truly great.

So it is... same vintage, same vineyard, same wine maker, same barrel, same cellar - different result.

Very lively and energetic. Still impressive acidity. High alcohol like WS chards always do but it is not overpowering. Medium to full bodied. Vanilla cocount popcorn creme brulee. No one would mistake this for.old world but it's a quality wine that has impressive staying power. That said, I wouldn't let this go much longer.
