Seemed a little thin. Too long in the bottle?

Had this bottle cellared for a few years, I have enjoyed their pinot's a few times this is my first time trying a Chardonnay. The wine pours a very light golden color. On the nose you get some green apple notes, a slight hint of oak, and a note which reminds me of passion fruit. On the palate the wine is almost chewy and the green apple and passion fruit notes linger and create a very pleasant and crisp finish. All in all a good Chardonnay and perfect for a summer day!

Solid effort. Slight heat on finish but overall nicely balanced. A little more acidic and lighter weight than Peay's Estate bottling (tried side by side).

drinkable but past its peak -- fruit is tasting more stewed or overripe now. Decanting helps.

Great classic style pinot
Bucket of different types of cherries never getting too rich. Floral nose. Bright on the palate with great balance of acidity and fruit.

Beautiful plum hue. Gorgeous nose with notes of blackberry, earth, letter, cinnamon, sage, and coffee. The palate has nice flavors of sweet cherries, coffee, and pie crust, with really nice acidity. This will keep for at least 3-4 years, but is delicious right now. I love WS Hirsch wines, and this one is no exception.

PnP. Medium bright red. Intense nose of cherries and perhaps apple. A bit of a floral quality on the palate with a taste of violets on the finish. Touch of tannins still to resolve. With air this smoothes out nicely; may be even better tomorrow. As noted by others, one of the better W-S wines for this vintage.

1.5 hour decant. Raspberry, cherries, and some earthiness with a light body. Smooth finish. To date I would rate the basic blends from Williams Selyem; 1) Sonoma Coast, 2-tie) RRV & Central Coast, 4) Sonoma County

Bright acidity. Flavors of Meyer lemon, white peach, possibly hints of pineapple. Acidity will hold this, not sure it'll improve. If I had more, I'd drink up.

The most memorable Williams Selyem I've ever had (out of 100+), and ane of the very best (of thousands) of California Pinot Noirs I've had. Perhaps only the 1994 Rochioli West Block is its peer.

ewsds's note is spot on. I purchased this at the winery last month as it was available for purchase but not for tasting, and I kind of wanted to know, having been in the Anderson Valley just the day before (and tasted a lot of '12s). Precocious, to be sure; best enjoyed in its youth, imho, with bold stuffing and ripping good character. 13,9% abv., recommended

Aerated to decanter 60 minutes, served non-blind.

"ATS" Wine Group, Spring Gathering: Always love wines that change over time and become more complex as the night wears on ... this started out as a balanced, medium-bodied pinot showing boysenberry and cola with spice accents, but over time it gained weight but still maintained a nice acidic lift and had a yummy raspberry creamsicle element to it. Really delicious stuff.

PnP, at first wine was really very nice, went well with salmon dinner. Raspberries and earth on the nose, with a well balanced palate. However the wine seemed to lose some of its grip as the meal wore on. Structure seemed to fad. Kind of a bummer.

This wine went on the deep decline. Nose is still damn good but mid palate is pretty. Overall it held up well for 14 years and is still an interesting drink but just lacking the wow factor at this stage.

Decanted for 1 Hour. Could use another two years in bottle. Still young on the palate, but gorgeous on the nose. Loamy cherry and plum skin with notes of herbaceous expression. The mouth is still austere with acid predomonate over the raspberry berry fruit. Great long finish but further time would assist this wine to become a great from very good.

Normally a great value Pinot from WS - this bottle was high in acid and the sour cherry was a little too much. Settled down a little bit but never went away.
