Very nice Pinot drinking well. A bit more earthy than some of the Oregon Pinot's but well balanced, fruit forward, and a bit drier on the finish. Paired well with pork tenderloin and salmon

Amazing vineyard and property. Lovely aromas and texture similar to a Chablis. Lemon and well balanced acidity and minerals.

I really admire the old school style of these wines.... 13% Alc, whole cluster and low 25% new oak. Light see threw amber cranberry color. Like so many 2011s the color belies the concentration and intensity. Soil infused spicy nose. This is very intriguing. The palate is again soily, spicy with some raspberry flavors. I have a about a 3rd of the btl left to see what its like a night later. Paid $36 and worth that. Only gripe is the bowling pin shaped btl while cool doesn't fit in my wine cabinet. Like the corny retro 60s label.

Really nice example of Willamette Valley Pinot. Muted flavor profile at the start, well integrated on all fronts. After an hour it really opens up and knocks your socks off. Solid price for this level of quality. I'll probably buy a few more to keep around.

2010 Winderlea Pinot Noir Murto Vineyard

5/13/2015 - Eric Lenard Likes this wine: 94 points

Bright Garnet with a medium viscosity. the outstanding element of this wine when I tasted it on two separate occasions at the tasting room was and exotic scent of pine and rose petals that I had never encountered in any other pinot. I bought the last 4 bottles of Murto from the tasting room.

i just opened one tonight . Medium garnet and still young. the scent has evolve to an exotic scent of sandalwood, clove, baking spice and red-black fruit --perhaps mulberry and red currant. The floral aspect has diminished over the past couple of years in favor of the spices with the earth beginning to show. It has evolved in the glass over the past few hours and seems extraordinarily fresh and vibrant. I have no doubt that this wine will evolve for the next 5-10 years

Everyone hates 2011 and especially in Oregon but not me. I'm loving it. Light bodied and high acid and low alcohol but not without class and flavor. Tart cherry.raspberry. Slight spice. Even a tad tannic. Very oregon and way more burg than you'll ever get from ca. A success.

In spite of its age, still maintain soft, fresh fruit and nice acidity. Perhaps not as bright as it once was, its integration of flavor a makes a pleasure to drink on this warm spring day.

Had half a bottle left from the previous evening, and the wine really improved. The flat short finish from the night before was now smooth and medium in length. In retrospect , I should have decant this for several hours before drinking.

Initial funk on the nose, blew off after about thirty minutes. The fruit just seems to disappear quickly on the palate with a flat short finish.
To me the fruit was somewhere between red and dark fruit. This sounds like I don't like the wine, but I do.

Still very young, and needs time to resolve its structure, but still tasty at this stage. Bright red fruits on the nose and palate. Medium-bodied, with stout acidity and fine tannins. Tasty now, probably better in a couple of years.

PnP This has that signature 2012 vintage exuberance on the nose and palate. You can't argue with the quality of 2012 but I'm finding the wines a little bigger and bolder than I prefer but, with 6-10yrs of btl age they may be great. Intense and savory with some earthy dark fruit flavors. Maybe lacking a little of the delicacy that I prefer in pinot noir. Tasty and certainly worth the $38 I paid locally for it.

Bright red fruits on the nose and palate - juicy acidity. Still need a lot of air to settle down, making me think it has a another year ot two before its near its peak. Medium-bodied, but full-flavored. Very tasty and a pleasure to sip.
