There is a strong Carbonic note running through the wine both in the mouth feel and in the taste, giving it good cut and keeping it refreshing. The finish is lime and green apple and is persistent. No obvious sweetness. This may be dumbing it down but I would describe it as a cross between a Loire Sauvignon Blanc and a good brut Prosecco. Drink more gruner. |

However, Wine Enthusiast gave the 2016 a 90, and 2015 was a spectacular year for Grüner Veltliner. So it is at least a 92. The wine is like a very spicy Sauvignon Blanc, with the fruitiness and residual sugar of a dry Reisling. Absolutely delicious. Granny Smith and lime and "fruit". |
