2013 Woot Cellars Revelry

Sonoma County Red Bordeaux Blend more

I know that i shouldn't have open this so young but i have 8 so what the hell. Its nice but right now it doesn't seem to me that it will be great. But the weird thing is i know it will get better its a Wellington and they have always gotten better. Plus i never had a Wellington that was less then 5 years old other than the Duke.

I like dessert wines, but I rarely drink them, mainly because I like "normal" red wine so much that by the time I get to the end of the meal, I don't really want/need another glass of wine! So I'm far from an expert at the dessert category. But I opened my first bottle of the Vinitwo del Finito and am pretty pleased.

I'd say that refrigerator temperature — I had the bottle in the fridge — is a little too cold for this one, and next time I'll take it out half an hour or so before serving. The nose is pretty yeasty — as someone else pointed out — and I don't get much else, and I suspect that temperature plays a role in diminishing the aromatics.

But there's nice complexity and balance, and it's not overly sweet. I think if I let myself, I could easily consume the whole 375 ml bottle myself, at one sitting. I wouldn't let myself. Would I?

Sadly mishandled an ahso opener and punched the cork right into the bottle and got a wine spritzing as a result. Wine is drinking beautifully but was a bit short lived. It went in the Decanter and the fruit faded after about an hour and left the wine with a bit of a rough edge. Overall, very enjoyable and I'm glad my buddy saved one from when it was originally sold.

Last bottle. Probably would have been good for at least a couple more months, but oh well ... ;-)
Still getting that apple note I referred to a while back. And to the very end it's done a fine job of hiding its heat.

This is drinking really well, honestly. Some good tartness, fruit is solid, and a bit of a dry finish. Overall a superb wine, as all Woot wines are!

Much more grassy/earthy this time around, but still very nice. Still would qualify it as "vibrant".

Deep, thick ruby. Crushed blueberry, spice, and cola nose. Full bodied, cherry cough syrup, blackberries, sage, some stinging heat, and a nice long sweet finish. Actually pretty easy to drink for a dessert wine. Should be better with more time.

I definitely plan to let my other 11 bottles of this sit for a while.
That said, this is some good, fun wine.
There's a strong yeasty note on the nose. On the tongue it's pleasantly sweet.
This was an incredibly good pairing with some dark chocolate-covered coffee beans we had hanging around.

About 28 hours ago, I had a glass or 2 of this. Clear red color, nice wide legs, and a nose of raspberry and spice. Light to medium bodied, fresh cherries and pomegranates, pepper, spice, good acid, and tannins that are present but not overwhelming. The best part is the nice, fruit-filled finish. Its drinking fine now, but will probably be better in a few months, and then have a window of at least the stated 5 years.

immediately after opening, we thought the nose was totally closed down. However it did start to open up with about 10 minutes in the glass. Nose was juicy raspberry and cranberry. The palate was surprisingly smoky (must be the PS?). Finish was smoke that morphed into peppercorn and cranberry.
