Aromas of roasted game, bacon, cherry and dark fruit. Flavors of cherry, red fruit and iron but the acidity is a bit much; it seems disjointed.

Time to Taste 2000 Bordeaux (R&D's): From 750ml, courtesy of our hosts. Initially a bit reticent, this opened some in the glass revealing aromas of honeyed citrus, orange zest and cloves. Lighter on the palate than the BAs, with flavors that follow the bouquet. A bit simple, but there's nice fruit and acid. I preferred the BAs tonight.

Time to Taste 2000 Bordeaux (R&D's): Courtesy of Marty. Popped and poured. Aromas of florals, black currants, potpourri and cherry. Loads of dark fruit on the palate with a long finish. After a couple of hours this displayed aromas of cedar, iodine, black fruit and dried flowers- not as much spice as I found earlier when I noted potpourri...definitely more on the delicate/flowery side of things. Full-bodied and very well-balanced with a wonderful mélange of red and black fruit followed by lavender, plum and cherry. The finish lasts well over a minute. Stunning. 97-98 pts.

Time to Taste 2000 Bordeaux (R&D's): Courtesy of Augie, I believe this had been quickly double decanted off its sediment a few hours before dinner. A hint of bricking with a deep crimson core. Aromas of chocolate, dusty red berries and wet vegetation. Nice fruit on the palate with fully-integrated tannin and herb and floral undertones. Decent finish, if a bit short. I would not expect any improvement from additional cellaring so I would consume over the short term, say now-2018.

Time to Taste 2000 Bordeaux (R&D's): Black fruit and floral notes with a hint of TCA lurking underneath. The first sip features currants, cassis and florals with a lengthy finish. Sadly, the TCA became more apparent as the night wore on. What a shame as there really was some nice fruit underneath.
