1/13/2024 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 93 pointsI had sampled this a couple of years ago via Coravin with no formal notes taken. Tonight my dear wife made an impromptu sausage and tortellini dinner in the pressure cooker and it just begged for an Italian wine. |

12/25/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 92 pointsI know this will sound “snobbish” but this was so much better than the $12 bottles brought by guests to my daughter and son-in-law’s home for Xmas. I kept this bottle off to the side and shared generous pours with my daughter. A bit selfish but the other guests aren’t into wine and wouldn’t know the difference. Cheers! 11/28/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 90 pointsWow, this is a case where three years in the bottle bumped the score up from an 82 to a 90. Totally different wine experience from what I tasted back in 2020. Glad this wine came around. |

11/3/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 93 pointsA very good showing by this bottle tonight. Served a glass each to 4 of us before going out to a new pub in town for dinner. Wonderful aromatic KB nose. This was the 64th bottle of KB we've had going back to the 2003 Sonoma bottling and they remain a favorite of ours. |

11/2/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 98 pointsAfter 11 years on the waiting list finally getting to enjoy some of these wines that I have read about for years. Yes, the hype is justified. This is a wine "experience." I had done a Coravin sample 1.5 years ago when I first got this bottle and also impressed that the Coravin certainly preserves the bottle exactly as I recalled from my tasting note. |

10/20/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 90 pointsA very proper Right Bank Bordeaux. Reminded me of my first experience with wines from this region back in 2005, finding and drinking wines from the 90’s. |

2017 Sequoia Grove Cabernet SauvignonNapa Valley more |
10/1/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis is the 17th bottle of Sequoia that we have drunk every fall to celebrate the day our offer on our lake house in Maine was accepted. We were enjoying a 2002 Sequoia when the call came in. A perfect 75 degree fall day today on our dock toasting our good fortunes. Cheers! |

2009 Château MonbousquetSt. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend more |
9/1/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 90 pointsWow I was surprised this wine was 70% Merlot. I tasted it without looking at the label (right bank) and it reminded me of a 7-10 year old Napa Cab. Definitely showed a lot of ripe fruit and lacked any old world Bordeaux notes. |

8/12/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 92 pointsLast of a pair of bottles I bought from WTSO in 2012. About 1/3 of the bottle has been Coravined at some point. We drank this as a pop n pour at the lake and it improved drastically with air. Cinnamon notes, red fruit and a long finish. |

2016 Altamura Cabernet SauvignonNapa Valley more |
7/21/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 92 pointsA very smooth concentrated Napa Cab that’s easy to drink but a bit too sweet and didn’t detect any secondary notes like cedar or cigar box. Would call this a “crowd pleaser” but at $100 a bottle will stick to cheaper bottles for our big parties! |

2007 Mas de Boislauzon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée du QuetRed Rhone Blend more |
7/1/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 93 pointsTen years since we first tasted this wine. My notes from back then recall some “burly” tannins and those have subsided quite a bit. Quick decant and drank during dinner prep, with dinner and one glass left after dinner as I write this note. A very good CdP but not a 100 pt wine like one of the pro reviews. Nice dense raspberry fruit but not much complexity and it’s likely time to drink up. |

6/16/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 94 pointsReally interesting blend from Saxum, more Syrah than Grenache. Hides the octane really well, no heat just smooth and soft tannins. Long pleasant finish with boysenberry notes. |

5/4/2023 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 95 pointsA generous gift from my son-in-law in 2001 I waited a few years and started Coravin tasting in January, March and April of this year. Finally pulled the cork tonight and got two nice glasses to go with dinner. |

12/29/2022 - Arch57 wrote: 90 pointsDid a pop’n’pour from my cellar as a dinner of leftover tenderloin from Xmas was being served so no chance to decant and I think this wine needs a couple of hours to soften up. Also the slightest bit of cork taint was detected. Not enough to ruin the bottle but it lingered on the finish. |

2007 Domaine Laleure-Piot Corton-RognetCorton Grand Cru Pinot Noir more |
11/19/2022 - Arch57 Likes this wine: 91 pointsWas looking for a Pinot to pair with our salmon dinner. I decided to bypass the California bottles and dug deep into my cellar for a Burgundy. This was pretty good at the 15 year mark. Drank more like a 1er Cru than a Grand Cru but was enjoyable enough and matched well with dinner. |
