Dark purple, somewhat muted nose, concentrated dark fruits with some buttery oak notes, very silky texture and slightly viscous mouthfeel (in a good way). Drank well 30 min in glass. Drink or hold 5+ years.

I found this wine a little disappointing for my expectations. Ripe and sweet, but a little thin and watered down. The wine couldn't stand up to a very lightly grilled steak with a side of polenta. Drink now or over the next few years.

Popped corks, drank over 3 hours. Both very good, '08 insignia a little darker fruit profile w better cut, sharper & shorter (but better) finish, whereas '08 Seavey a little more sweet, w baking spices and a more mellow long finish. Both 94 pts. Slight edge to insignia to my palate for fruit profile. Drink or hold 5+ yrs
(Night two- phelps a little flat, Seaver tasted better)

Well made wine, elegant and pretty but with ripe California fruit, good acidity and balance, but... Tasted a little watered down (not just lacking concentration, but like it had water in it - very strange, both my wife and I said this independently without influencing one another). Drink or hold 3-5+.

More elegant than expected for a big robust Cali Pinot. Although this was paired with bold food and perhaps the elegance is perceived (rather than actual) in relation to the food. Gorgeous aromatics and fruit, decent acidity to balance, a touch of bitterness,? Oak, on the finish. Drink now, or over the next few years.

Not a great showing for this wine tonight, hints of butterscotch, wishing for a little more acid, some bitterness on the back palate perhaps Oak? Overall a little disjointed. Maybe it will improve in a year or two?
