Medium dark yellow with slight green flecs; Lovely fruit melange of melon, nectarine, yellow cherry, slight juicy-fruit note but not sweet; rich body without being creamy, wet rock minerality, great depth and structure, soft and easy but lifted as well with good acidity. Serious Verdicchio, really enjoyed this. With grilled pork skewers and onions.

Bit more spice compared to the '09, more red fruit driven, seemed like maybe scorched berries as it was a bit more cooked, more present tannins, slight sour acidity, hot finish, in short, less balanced. Doesn't hold a candle to the '09. I was told it was a very erratic year.

Hugely floral, heady, with sweet spices, cigar box, licorice, stewed plum, black berry/black fruits but not "dark"; a good sense of minerality, with well-integrated oak-subtle pie crust notes; incredibly silky, ripe, extracted but light on its feet, not weighty at all. Smooth moderate tannins, balanced acid, very impressive. 14 mo. Am/Fr Oak.

What a surprise for an '02; really nice place right now with dusty earthy leather, truffle, classic perfumy left bank cab nose; medium weight, balanced, very even moderate tannins, tertiary notes poking through. Lovely and drinking very well now, and should hold for a few years more. Had it next to the '09 and preferred this, at least for now.

Tight as a drum, and a bit too cold; as it warmed up it showed lots of rocky minerality, lemon and underripe peach, melon rind; exceptionally acidic, a bit sharp right now. Opened up nicely but still a bit austere, vanilla oak/pie crust showing up a bit--not quite integrated. This needs time but has good bones.

Quite bretty with barnyardy, funky, animale/worn leather notes, along with soft macerated stewed dark fruits; medium soft and lightly chewy, lower acid at this point, easy going, structure seems to have faded a bit, but grew on me with the Korean ribs and a hot summer night outside.
