My last of about fifteen of these I've had over the years. This is faring better than I had expected. It definitely needs to be drank now/soon vs. holding any longer as it's surely on the downward trajectory, but it still has some charm. Quite light-bodied for a syrah, some white pepper, slightly sweet red fruit tones, somewhat pronounced acidity. Nothing too serious but good for the money. Drink now.

Very pleasant, thiugh the sweetness felt a bit much for me. I think I'd prefer something more firm and structured.

Intense dark fruit, with a surprising sweetness. Everything is a bit compact right now but should become more open with a couple more years of bottle age. Good quality cab at this price.

Has a significant green/vegetal tone at first. This fades away after a bit but still lingers till the end. This is not as pleasant as the first vintages I tried; '98 snd '99. This feels a bit rustic but there is quite a bit of charm too.

Very soft, gentle style, which I like. Has a creamy texture with just a hint of white pepper on the finish. Very friendly, approachable and satisfying. Drinking great right now; no need to wait.

I really liked this. There's a delicate, poised intensity - very savoury, with licorice and aniseed on the finish.

Quite impressed with this. Blackberry and tobacco notes abound, very concentrated but there is an approachable lushness about it. Could do with more intrigue or personality but the quality is unmistakable. Very fine stuff.

This has developed into something much better than the obe I had in '11. This is sexy, some light strawberry tones and white pepper. This is precise and satisfying, feels off the beaten track, in a goid way.

One of the most satisfying zins I've had of late. Not the last word in concentration, but effortless, polished and not over-the-top like some zins. There's no rustic, spicy kick on the finish, which is a good thing - this is pretty sophisticated and elegant for a zin, and has a lot of lovely qualities that I don't normally expect from a zin. I feel the bottle age has done wonders for making this wine so refined and helping it show so well. Still, drink now. 93+pts
