Golden color. Really impressive aromatics that are loaded with pure dark berry fruit. Great intensity and depth of fruit without being at all heavy on the palate. Finishes with stony minerality. Drank over two nights and probably slightly better on night two. A terrific wine and couldn't be more different than my prior experience with this producer which was a bottle of '11 Blanc d'Argile last year - another reminder of how difficult the '11 vintage was. Disgorge 10/30/12.

Pleasantly surprised by this after a disappointing bottle last year. Still has hints of green, but it's softened up a bit and is more spice and herbs than vegetal. Also showing some floral notes. The additional year of bottle age seems to have served this well. Clearly not a great vintage for this, but still enjoyable.

The stand-out wine for me in a line-up of stand-out wines. WOTN.

This got better and better with time and my last sip was the best about 5 hours after opening. Tremendous complexity, depth and intensity with everything in perfect balance. I loved this wine when I had it from 750ml last year but this was a significant step-up with much more freshness and intensity. Absolutely stunning wine in a perfect spot of maturity.

Very big and bold. Reminiscent of aged white burgundy. Pure minerality with hints of baked red apple. 4/25/12 disgorge. Not quite at the level of the '11 disgorge bottle I had last year but still great.

Promising aromatics of ripe white peach, flowers, grass, candied lemon and minerals. Really ripe and rich in the mouth. While I wouldn't say this is fat, it's just a very big wine and a bit heavy to me. Would love to try this in a cooler vintage as there are clearly some good components here it's just that the overall impression is dominated by the weight of the wine.

The class here is clear as this is really intense with impressive depth, however, the acidity is simply searing and throws this out of balance. The raw material is impressive - it's like the nose and palate are dialed up to 10, but then the acidity on the backend is just off the charts and as a result the wine is not particularly harmonious at this point. I want to love this and I hope that someday it finds the right balance but it seems like it's going to take a really long time to find out. 92?

Notes of crushed rock, creamsicle, white flowers, underripe pineapple (in a good way) and a bit of smokiness. The elevated dosage level of Comtes works perfectly with the leanness of the vintage as this is so well balanced and beautifully proportioned. Finishes with tons of minerality. This is drinking so well right now and seems to have the balance to last for a long, long time. Really enjoyed this.
