The first thing I will say that this wine is young and needs more time... I was a little dissapointed since 2006 was supposed to be a stellar vintage and in my opinion the 2004 Banfi was more complex at this stage, I will be interested to try again in a few years. The notes on the nose were pleasant with cherry, plum, a hint of vanilla and herbs. On the mouth medium body with some concentration, high acidity and tannins that show earthy notes, chocolate, cinnamon, and potential dark fruits. Hopefully after a few years of aging the fruits will show more and make this a more balanced wine. |
