7/9/2017 - oenophilemoose wrote: 89 pointsDecanted at a local restaurant. In hindsight, should have decanted at home for a couple of hours prior to dinner. Seemed to take some time to open and fully blossom. This is a good Pinot albeit not outstanding. In this price range, there many wonderful Pinots to choose from. |

6/19/2017 - oenophilemoose wrote: 93 pointsWe spend a month every year in Napa Valley to visit some of our favorite wineries and also to find new experiences. The Scherrer Winery was our find of the year. The Scherrer family are some of nicest folks in the industry and without a doubt, make some of best wines in Sonoma County (or any country). I am not a Rosé or white wine lover, but the Scherrer Driy Rosé hit it out of the park. Cannot wait until the 2017 vintage is released. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

6/15/2017 - oenophilemoose wrote: 91 pointsDecanted and consumed over next few hours. Dark fruit and solid tannins. Seems to be some bottle variation since two were outstanding and the other two showing some flaws. Recommend consuming near term since this bottle seems to be showing some age. |

6/8/2017 - oenophilemoose wrote: 88 pointsDecanted for an hour and consumed over the next three. A medium-bodied wine that too much influence of wood. It was also acidic and tart on the finish devoid of any tannins to balance. I give this my lowest rating: it's a food wine and not consumable in and of itself. |

6/5/2017 - oenophilemoose wrote: 89 pointsDecanted and consumed over the next three hours. Disappointed as this wine did not live up to some of the reviews. Very fruit forward (too much so) with a finish lacking in sufficient tannic backbone. Poor QPR. |

5/17/2017 - oenophilemoose wrote: NRDouble decanted and consumed. May have required more decanter time, therefore will not rate. A Burgundian style with good fruit and mouth feel. However, the finish was slightly bitter. This seemed dissipate over the next couple of hours. Will cellar at least another year and try again in 2018 or 2019. |

This wine definitely requires more cellar time or a very lengthy decant. The potential results would fall into the 92+ range...wish I would have exercised more patience. |
