2/23/2014 - d_g Likes this wine: 88 pointsDecanted 2.5 hours. Dark red/garnet color. The nose was surprisingly complex, with notes of graphite, crushed rock, tomato, and bell pepper. Tasted like blackberries. |

6/4/2013 - d_g Likes this wine: 87 pointsDid not decant, but let sit in glass for 60 minutes. Appearance was a lush, dark ruby color. Nose and taste were of red fruits, and the texture was very smooth. |

5/15/2013 - d_g Likes this wine: 90 pointsDecanted 90 minutes. Color was subdued, to me appearing as a browned or baked apple color. Smelled like rich red fruits with a hint of leather. Taste was raspberry. Medium tannins. |

3/12/2013 - d_g wrote: 82 pointsUnimpressive and disappointing, considering the wait to get the bottle... A garnet appearance in the glass, with a browned ring along the edge. The aroma was spring flowers, with a faint hint of tobacco. The taste was soft and balanced, but again, not impressive. |

2005 Château Luchey-HaldePessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend more |
10/1/2012 - d_g wrote: 90 pointsDecanted 90 minutes. Beautiful color - dull, earthy, slightly browned. There was no heat on the aroma or the taste. The aroma was cherry and spices, as was the taste, which also had a silky texture. It was well balanced, tasting of a chalky soil, and had a long finish. |

3/24/2012 - d_g wrote: 93 pointsAn excellent wine. Purple/ruby appearance, and a rich, spicy fragrance of cherries, crushed rock, and bubblegum. Exceedingly dry, with a fresh taste of ripe cherries. Highly recommend. |

2007 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon ReserveNapa Valley more |
3/23/2012 - d_g wrote: 91 pointsA good wine, but still disappointing because my tasting at Beau Vigne last July was much better. A ruby color, but not very dark - actually very restrained, like a Pinot Noir. Nose: a strong Cabernet fragrance of blackberries and dark fruiits with a slight "Napa" spice, that scent I always smell with good Napa Valley wines. Also a hint of tobacco. Taste: again, not as impressive as my tasting last year, but it did still have that smoky, very long finish that builds slowly. |

1/16/2012 - d_g wrote: 84 pointsDecanted one hour. Appearance was inky and purple, and the nose was of ripe black cherries and raspberry, with spring flowers developing after another half hour. Taste was the same - cherries and raspberries, with some minerality developing over that same additional half hour. |

12/17/2011 - d_g wrote: 85 pointsAppearance: Pale golden, muted brightness. Nose: interestingly "oaky" for an unoaked chardonnay. Whatever brightness is missing from the color is found in the nose. Notes of citrus (maybe lime) and flowers/lavender. Taste: smoky, pears & apples. |

11/29/2011 - d_g wrote: 86 pointsPaler in appearance than most grenaches I've seen, it had a strong raspberry taste and nose. Still, very reserved for this grape, and that's with 15.5% alcohol. Loose, not dry. |

11/21/2011 - d_g wrote: 90 pointsThis wine had a great color- brassy and golden. It wasn't bright, but it wasn't faded either. The nose was red skinned apple. The palate was fun - a huge front end, filled with lemons and oak, continuing through with roasted nuts at the end. It had a slight dryness, and was loose in texture - not buttery. I did not find a buttery taste in this wine, or vanilla for that matter, which was a nice change from most Chardonnays I've had. |

11/17/2011 - d_g wrote: 89 pointsDecanted for 2 hours. Wonderful sweet strawberry aroma, similar in my mind to a Marcillac. The front of the palate is missing, but a dry and surprisingly complex middle, starting with light strawberry and ending with dark fruits, and a lingering aftertaste make up for it. |
