2000 Château Pontet-CanetPauillac Red Bordeaux Blend more |
12/26/2015 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 88 pointsAll the complexity you'd expect from a good Pauillac. Current and leather on the nose, extremely dry on the palate. Glad we didn't keep in the cellar any longer, I think the recessed fruit and increasing acid balance are signs that it's passing its prime. |

1999 St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountainmore |
12/17/2015 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 93 pointsSimply fabulous. My guess is that it will continue to age gracefully, but won't improve from here. |

10/24/2015 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 90 pointsStill maintains a great balance & complexity, with solid fruit. Not sure if it should age a lot longer, but certainly has matured well. |

2014 Kestrel Falcon Series Rosé Kestrel View Estate VineyardYakima Valley Rosé Blend more |
6/25/2015 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 74 pointsVery disappointing. I'm usually a Kestrel fan, but can't find any positives in this wine. Astringent, almost no fruit. |

1999 St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountainmore |
3/2/2015 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 93 pointsSimply amazing. On the one hand it hardly shows its age, with luscious deep fruit forward on the palate. But this balance and integration seldom comes from a younger vintage. If only we'd known to buy a case... |

2/16/2015 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 85 pointsVery good fruit and body, not a great deal of complexity - not finding much tannin or acid. Fine to drink now but I wouldn't cellar it. |

2/6/2015 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 93 pointsAmazing solidity of fruit and balanced tannins, with no sign of having aged too long. Every bi the grande dame we'd hope for after cellaring for 12years. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

2005 Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon Leonardini Family Selection Rutherfordmore |
12/23/2014 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 95 pointsClose to mind blowing. The Rutherford Red introduces itself on the nose, followed by a wash of Intense plummy fruit, finishing with a whirl of balancing acid, tannin, pepper notes, and lingering regret that we didn't buy a case when we could. |

2009 Lachini Pinot PortWillamette Valley Pinot Noir more |
10/6/2014 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 79 pointsGood fruit, which lacks depth & passes quickly on the palate, to be displaced by an astringent finish. Disappointing. |

2005 Château Malmaison Baronne Nadine de RothschildMoulis en Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend more |
8/12/2014 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 90 pointsA lovely dry Medoc that has aged gracefully. Still hints of vanilla on the nose, rich tannins on the palate with enough fruit to maintain its character. Better than I expected for a moderately priced French label. |

2011 Castillo de Feliciana Cabernet Sauvignon AdentroWalla Walla Valley more |
6/2/2014 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 91 pointsAlthough the nose seems understated to me, I love this wine on the palate. CdF's preference for European-styled wines is evident in this Cabernet that bucks the Washington trend for fruit-forward, very jammy wines. I like the more forward balance of acid & tannins that add complexity to the Adentro. Maybe not everyone's quaffing choice, but I think this beauty can be well paired with a wide variety of foods. For the price, a great bargain in a quality Cabernet. |

2001 Château Smith Haut LafittePessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend more |
1/2/2014 - BarryInSeattle wrote: 90 pointsDefinitely needs to be opened several hours before tasting. After a wait, the fruit re-emerged to balance the mature tannins and initial leather taste. Ended up a lovely, stately accompaniment to our roast pork dinner. |

2010 Mark Ryan Dead Horse Club Grenache-Syrah-MourvedreRed Mountain Red Rhone Blend more |
11/28/2013 - BarryInSeattle Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis wine was a wonderful pairing with our traditional Thanksgiving meal. The prominent Granache fruit provides a nice balance with poultry, full-bodied without overwhelming other flavors in our meal. I think the wine has benefited from its time in the bottle, we'll wait awhile before opening the next. |

2011 Vinicola de Castilla La Mancha Finca del CastilloTempranillo more |
11/22/2013 - BarryInSeattle Likes this wine: 87 pointsGreat value at this price point. Bright cherry fruit nicely balanced by tannins, and lacking the astringent character I associate with many inexpensive Tempranillos. A candidate for an everyday wine at our house. |
