youthful colour, deep depth ruby. plummy and blackberry, herbal hints, slightly sweet, firm tannins, good density with a solid core. medium finish with some earthy and cream chocolate notes.

a well-structured Central Otago with good concentration, just at its peak. BC 93, MC 4.5 stars.

very low yield, 4.5 t/h, Alc: 14% / pH: 3.58 / TA: 5.9 g/l

medium/dark ruby, even and clear. very beautiful nose, dark cherry, blue berries, violet and dry herbals. rich and multi-layers palate, balanced between fruity sweetness and mouth-watering acidity, silky tannins in a solid core, laced some herbal, meaty and earthy notes. nice structure and delicate texture, with some complexity.

a seductive Central Otago! Cuisine 5 stars, MC 4.5 stars.

bright ruby, clear and even. bright red berries and cherry aromas, fresh fruity dominating palate, comfortably sweet and juicy, light/medium bodied, fresh acidity, some power and heat in the core, subtle vanilla notes in medium length finish. a beautiful fruity Central Otago with some elegance.

light green/lemon hue, clear. citrus, nectarine, fresh, very subtle wood. Vibrant acidity, medium+ bodied, slight sweetness and nice mineral notes in finish, good length.

milder, more complex and elegant than Brancott standard S.B., however it's still a commercial style, though it uses 'Special Reserve' 'Fume Blanc' as name, sounds more serious. actually, it's not barrel matured like 2013. under new GI Act (could be released next year), I'm wondering if it can match the name 'Fume Blanc', which normally hints oak barrel matured, not just partially in this way. MC 4 stars.

medium/dark ruby, slightly brown rim. ripe dark dark berries nose. fruity sweetness led the palate, smooth and round, then fresh acidity, silky tannins, emerging salty savoury notes in the latter half, laced a little oak and cream. medium/light bodied, with good balance and complexity, medium+ finish with all integrated flavours.

dark garnet, even and clear. pure cassis and dark fruits flavours, integrated with nice cedar. round and balanced. m+ fine grained tannins, good weight and density, supple, wrapped by comfortable fruity sweetness and very smooth texture. slight herbal hints. however, I didn't get too long finish.

A classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, very nice purity and density. JC Lee 94

16 months French oak barrels (15% new). Alc 14.5%, RS 0.71 g/L, TA 6.2 g/L, pH 3.68.

dark crimson/purple, inky core and lighter edge. cassis and dark plum flavours, bold oak flavour dominating palate, well integrated. heavy weight tannins but supple and generally smooth, slightly sweet, balanced in general, medium/long finish.

a fairly good CS with good density and big structure, reflects the greatest vintage of Hawke's Bay. but far from natural expressing, artificially handled very much if not too much. still young.

16 months oak barriques, 41% new.

NZIWS 2014 Trophy, AirNZ 2014 Gold, Hawkes Bay 2014 Gold, WINESTATE 5 stars, Michael Cooper 5 stars.

Alc 14.5%, RS < 2 g/L, TA 5.6 g/L, pH 3.76

left in refrig for 2 nights, much better mellowed, round, more cedar emerged, rich creamy notes in finish, though still a little hot.
