medium garnet, even and clear. mild nose, some cassis and cedar. palate shows solid structure, medium acidity, medium and furry tannins, cream chocolate, cedar and subtle mint. medium finish with some herbal/greenish notes. good density. compare to other big names in Hawke's Bay, it has less complexity, but more elegance. very accessible now also good cellar potential.

lemon yellow/light golden, clear and bright. grapefruit, citrus and creamy, nutty flavours, round and smooth texture, well balanced with crispy acidity, medium-size weight, good length. medium+ bodied, medium+ finish with some biscuit and minerals. a very friendly Chardonnay also with some complexity.

elegant and flawless. a wonderful wine for Anzac Day when you know the story about TSS Awatea. lest we forget.
