Interestingly enough, my note on this wine is pretty similar to my note in 2009. It's a big ripe wine, don't get me wrong, but it's integrated. There's a sweetness to it and a touch of vanilla from the oak but it isn't out of balance. Just really forward giving gobs of dark fruit with a big dense ripe structure. The tannins have resolved and have softened. I think it's in a pretty good place right now and it drank pretty similar for a couple of hours.

The wine does a really good job of straddling the line of being too high octane but it reins itself in with enough acidity to keep it bright and not goopy.

I actually thought it was brooding and closed up, there was a density and coiled tension and fruit in the background, but it needed to expand. Not advanced to me

That 30% pinot noir really adds on to the body with a very brooding round palate. Very fun to try the two champagnes next to each other.

I thought was showing a bit more advanced than the vintage would dictate, far more tertiary flavors than I thought there would be without the stuffing of a wine of its age. I think if I was blinded I would have guessed ten years older. It was nice and easy drinking but just not what I expected from a 95.

needs a lot of air to shed the oak on the wine. Really deep dark fruit on the palate, the texture is a bit grainy and the finish is a touch woody (even the next day)

delicious rich wine, full of energy and fruit. Needed about 2-3 hours in the decanter to shed the oak but once it did it was fantastic. I feel like a lucky man, got to drink all of the 07 1ers from Roulot in the past couple of weeks, what an excellent vintage

Tasted blind: initially it was the most reduced wine of the night. I let it sit there for roughly a hour and took sips throughout that time. Initially it started out with some lemon zest and custard on the palate but then it suddenly picked up with intense lemon fruit on the palate with zippy acidity racing through. Long clean finish of cool citrus. My only knock on the wine (which I still really enjoyed) was that it wasn't that expansive on the palate, everything was good, but I felt it could have been more.

Tasted blind: The nose is filled with crushed vitamins and tropical fruit. On the palate the fruit is lacking a bit, but it has the classic BDM silkiness as the acidity picks up real nice.
