Lots of ripe black plum and currant with seemingly sweet spice. Exuberant and fun, but with potential I like for medium-term, 2011-2021.

Meaty black fruit with great intensity and power. Incredibly young for its age, this kept evolving and showing more nuance. Showstopper.

Great orchard and stone fruit with enticing botrytis nuance throughout. Not the sweetest d'Yquem, but I really liked the weight and more savory character of this wine.

This is all about ripe red berries on nose and palate with good concentration. Seems a tad oaky as the main source of spice, but overall a charming glass of juice. Quite tasty for a couple of hours, but starting to seem slightly muddy the 3rd hour open.

I understand this is a (single?) barrel selection by a prominent Portland retailer from the KW cellar.

From 375 ml bottle. Ripe apple and pear on nose and palate with some floral hints. Fairly golden color, and this started slightly oxidative, but this freshened up nicely with 15-20 minutes of air.

Memories of black fruit coming through with lots of sous bois, mushroom. Still drinking nicely, but I expect this was more interesting and complete a few years back.

Ripe black fruit, still fresh with good power. Subtle background spice. Reasonable balance. Drinking very well now, and I expect it will continue to hold nicely for another decade.

Lots of mature red berry, this is showing 1996's acidity and structure, with background Asian five spice. Moderate weight and nuance, I like where this is today, think it will drink at this level for 5+ years, but don't expect upside from here.

Served alongside PAvie 1970. This was open and decanted an hour+. Started off strong with ripe black fruit and plenty of sweet spice, emerging signs of of maturation. Didn't really evolve much over the course of the evening. Started much more interesting vs the 1970, but might have finished just behind.

Served alongside Pavir 1989. Decanted just before serving, this wasn't given lots of air time before pouring. Started with good mushroom charachter but slightly musty and one dimensional. This picked up weight and depth with more time in glass, finishing strong.

Red and black berries on nose and palate with earthy, chewy, hearty character and mouthfeel that makes me think Morey from the very first taste. A few rough edges on finish. First bottle from a case purchase, I will give this another year to soften, but think this is excellent for its level. Best 2016-2022.

Purchased several months ago at auction, so this isn't one of the bottles I bought from St innocent upon release. Ripe red and black berries on nose and palate with good concentration and enticing spice, but this seems slightly muddy. I can not say if it is maturing on the early side or perhaps suffering from some heat damage. I would err on the side of this being a bottle problem. While this was good, I'd consider this around 89 points tonight, less than I would have expected from this producer in this vintage.

Burst of flowers to start with lots of lemon and lemon peel on nose and palate. Very energetic with lots of acidity and minerality accompanying dense fruit flavors. If tasted blind, I would have thought it from Cote de Beaune. Good now, I think might still have upside from here.

Evening at RN74 (RN74 - San Francisco CA): Lots of mature red berry aromas and flavors that come across slightly older and lighter styled on the nose, then with more concentration coming through on palate. I like the background spice throughout as well.

Evening at RN74 (RN74 - San Francisco CA): mature black cherry aromas and flavors with a rustic edge. There is an iron-ny, minerally character here without much spice or real nuance. Slightly firm, but in overall good balance. Don't keep this much longer.

Evening at RN74 (RN74 - San Francisco CA): Lots of ripe apple and some tropical hints on nose and palate. Big, fat fruit flavors. Oak spice hints+ on both nose and palate make this more fun and approachable, even if detracting from any real Puligny character. Best young.
