very similar note... this bottle felt a little clunkier but was still a very good wine in a fun style. can still hold this a few years longer.

dark as night, purple rim. on the nose dark fruits that are crisp and full vitamin like minerality, no new oak, some floral elements. with time some subtle savory smells emerge. on the palate high acids, moderate weight on the midpalate, finishes with a firm wall of grape tannins, low to moderate alcohol. balanced wine with very good length, great intensity, some complexity. wine has finesse, a very fine texture, and honestly would be tough to place blind in cahors. to be fair i love malbec like this, juicy, fresh, no new oak, not overripe. i'm not sure how well this will age but it is for me a super fun ride of a wine.

tasted with 2019 non y'gay reserva... similar depth of color, ruby rim. on the nose more red fruited and less ripe... feel like there are more varietal notes going on here other than tempranillo, more savory notes, more minerality, little bit less ripe on the fruit... more earthy minerality though 2019 may just have more fruit, similar large oak feel that is as much french as american in taste. on the palate higher acids, a more structred, less broad midpalate, firmer tannins, moderate to moderate ply alcohol. balanced wine with good length, very good intensity and complexity. wine has finesse, a very fine texture, and feels more rioja than the 2019 non y'gay reserva. again a really well made wine at a really fair price...drink or hold.

deeply colored, ruby rim. on the nose deeply fruited with cassis, black cherry, some earthy soil/loam aromas, oak is in the background and feels like more old than new and more french than american. on the palate high acids, a very round and fleshy midpalate, finishes with a moderate amount of already well integrated oak tannin and moderate + alcohol. balanced wine with good length, very good intesnity, good complexity. wine has finesse, a very fined texture, and while doesn't scream rioja to me feels old world. for 15-20 this is really good wine... ripe, friendly, structured, balanced... drinks well now and will improve with short term aging over the nedt 3-5. most impressive

dark as night, purple to ruby rim. on the nose has bright dark fruits, blackberries, currants... no new oak... flowers and lots of soily and stony minerality. on the palate very fresh acidity, square and moderately wieghted midpalate, finishes with very frim and square grape tannins and low alcohol. balanced wine with good length and intensity... very good complexity. wine has finesse, a very fine texture, and doesn't exactly scream typical aglianico. really fun wine, tanky, true to varietal, fresh and energetic... not rustic or savory or heavy so a bit atypical. love the absence of new oak. drinks well now iwth a decant... will hold well but maybe not improve a ton but who knows.

deeply colored, ruby rim that is more youthful than age of wine. aromatically monotone dark fruits in a slightly soily, leathery aromas. any new oak is completely integrated. on the palate high acids, moderate midpalate weight, finishes with a moderate to high amount of integrated oak and grape tannins, low to moderate alcohol. balanced wine with good length and intensity, no real complexity. fine finesse, a great texture, expresses its place well. interesting wine, seems froze in time. not past its prime and muddled but stuck in adolescence with minimal tertiary development. who knows where this goes but i suspect it may be the best it can show.

deeply colored, some cricking at rim. on the nose there is a lot going on... mostly dark fruits, plums, dark cherries, lots of earthy notes... lots of savory notes, i don't pick up much new oak but there are some baking spice notes. on the palate high acids, a broad and deep midpalate, finishes with firm grape tannins and square and drying oak tannins, moderate alcohol. balanced wine with very good length, intensity... lots of complexity. wine has finesse, a sruare, slighlty rustic but deep texture... very Italy to me. this is a very nice wine with a ton going on... it drinks well now but i'm guessing will continue to evolve for the next 3-5 years.

moderate depth of color, ruby rim. on the nose well delineated dark fruits with some ripe plum, dark cherry, a mix of new french > american oak baking spices, pretty clean and in between modern and traditional. on the palate moderate acids, moderate amount of flesh on the midpalate, modetare tannins that are already nicely integrated, moderate alcohol. balanced wine with good length, very good intensity, ok complexity. wine has finesse, a fine texture, very good expression of place. as always with this producer well made wine... should improve over the next 1-3 years and hold for some time though drinks well now.

moderate depth of color for PN, ruby rim. on the nose shows dark fruits that are moderately ripe, some baking spice notes from new oak, some minerality. on the palate the wine overall is a bit pitchy, high acids, moderate midpalate weight, moderate amount of oak tannins that are not yet integrated, low to moderate alcohol. balanced wine that is a bit on the firm side, very good length, good intensity, not a ton of complexity yet. wine has really nice finesse and texture, expresses old world PN very well. it'll take 5-10 years to see if there really is 1er cru level burg quality here... it has the bones to morph into that though. drinks well now but i'll be inclined to let these sit 3-5 to see what you get.

lightly colored, straw rim. on a nose a bit muted with minerals, very neutral fruits, some vegetal notes, no oak or malo. on the palate dry with very typical SB acidity, low midpalate weight, finishes a bit phenolic with low alcohol. wine is on the firm side balance wise, has ok length, ok intensity, moderate complexity. wine has some finesse, a fine texture, would be hard to place this wine. i was less impressed with this than others seem to be, feels like a wine that was picked a little early in a warm climate... has that malic slightly underripe feel. unique in the world of cali SB for sure. drink now, good wine.

deeply colored, purple rim. on the nose restrained... dark fruits of moderate ripeness, new french oak spices, minerals... on the palate high acids, moderate midpalate weight, finishes with moderate to high alcohol and a huge amount of unresolved oak and grape tannins. balanced wine, good length, good intensity, very primary so not showing much complexity at this point. the wine is super tightly wound and firm yet still has really nice finesse and a deep texture... expresses place very well. this is gonna need a few years to provide any enjoyment and then will likely last another decade plus... great stuff, no syrup notes at all.

deeply colored... yellow gold rim. fine mousse, on the nose very unidimensional with bruised apple... not a ton of autolytic character, no signs MLF or oak use. on the palate moderate dosage, firm acids, fullish midpalate, a bit phenolic at the end, low alcohol. balanced wine with no real length, good intensity, no complexity. wine has ok finesse and texture, have no idea where i would have placed this blind. pretty dull and uninteresting, competent though.
