9/9/2007 - cousteau wrote: 89 pointsOne of the best QPR so far this year. Nose and mouth showing vanila, caramel cherries. Good overall balance with nice fruit and acidity. Nice finish too. Unbeatable for daily consumption at the price level. I guess the vintage is to blame and should be aware of other vinatges that might not carry these qualities. Will try to taste other vintages to check. |

8/25/2007 - cousteau wrote: 86 pointsWe needed something to go along with the fresh oysters we picked up and this seemed like a good candidate for a crisp and mineral local chardonnay. It didn`t actually disapoint us, but didn`t show as much freshness as we would like. Just an ok regular chardonnay. |

8/25/2007 - cousteau wrote: 91 pointsDark rubi purple color but not as dark as the usual syrah fruit bomb. Nose is very intense showing great amount of ripe fruit but not over the top. A tabaco note blends quite nicely with the fruit giving it a slight elegance. The mouth shows a full body with good complexity, balance and nice mouthfeel. The finish is amazingly long and even leaves a honey note alongside the fruit. Very good QPR, paid only$18 on the jumbo supermarket in Santiago-Chile.91+ (I believe it will get better with some more age - 1/2 years). |

8/24/2007 - cousteau wrote: 90 pointsGreat Qpr. Nose shows very nice cherries, raspberries mixed with a eucaliptus note and some underlying green pepper. Mouth is very well rounded, balanced and velvety in texture. Nice long finish. Interesting that we drank this at a much higher than usual temperature (due to the very cold weather in the chilean winter) and it tasted very good. Afterwards I tried it at a normal temperature and wrote the note. |

6/30/2007 - cousteau wrote: 91 pointsDark and deep. Nose starts showing some vanila from the american oak then opens up with some dark cherries, black currants and even some cassis. Still very powerful, lush and velvety mouthfeel. Balanced with very fine cheewy tannins and good acidity. Great finish. Left some for the second day, let's see what happens, I believe it will open up more and show better. |

6/16/2007 - cousteau wrote: 89 pointsLiked it a lot for it's category. Nose doesn't show much, but what a good pair for food this is. High acidity, good fruit, structure is good enough to give it a firm backbone but very well rounded. Doesn't "kill" the food like many of the modern styled wines. Complex and round finish. |

6/10/2007 - cousteau wrote: 93 pointsThis second bottle is already showing better than the first one I opened last year. The oak is much better integrated at this point and there's no excessive alcohol as before. Great nose of blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, the spicy note is still there. Very good balance and mouthfeel. I believe it still has more room to evolve and will probably get even better than now. |

6/7/2007 - cousteau wrote: 89 pointsVery different style of wine. This is the absolute polarity for the extracted fruit bombs that we're seeing all over the place, nothing against them, I admit enjoying them quite a bit also. But this is something worth trying, it is very light, extremely subtle and elegant. Very refined aromas showing some tobaco, a subtle perfumy red fruit and a complex mineral/earthy note underneath it all. You can drink a full bottle in less than an hour and you won't feel any effect from the alcohol (12,2%). On the mouth it shows very fresh acidity, a light body but a perfect balance, this goes very well with food. It seems that this biodynamic practice is able to express the vineyard very profoundly. Tough to rate, so I rated it simply based on a perception of pleasure comparable to other styles. |
