Always a GREAT value - I'm always amazed by the 'bacon' notes I get on this...

A solid buy no matter what the vintage.

Left a number of these at a vacation home for quaffing - it went well with the requisite vacation meals of grilled meats and such. I drank half a dozen or so over the course of 3 years and despite the switch-over to composite corks (the prior vintage, had real cork) it held up nicely in our cool cellar. The prior vintage to me, had great QPR - this one not so much.

Had this at Barclay Prime in Philly w/ friends... This was certainly a good bottle of chardonnay. Very 'Burgundian', reminds me of Chassagne-Montrachet. Very well balanced and VERY drinkable. Went well with the bacon wrapped scallops over fried green tomatoes! We ordered a bottle of the Far Niente '06 afterwards - I personally liked the over the top oak monster Far Niente more, but also had a glass of red in between, so it wasn't a fair comparison. Oh well, I might just have to have a head to head - just not at Barclay cause they wanted about $160 each. OUCH.

No formal notes - but SO interesting... nose is worth the price of admission - tropical fruits galore. I do get the bananas - Bone said it smells like the patisserie Laduree in Paris... I agree, it had a nice caramel note that brought me right back to their FAMOUS macaroons... if I could only find something that reminds me of their hot chocolate - but I digress - the mouthfeel is fat and syrupy, the palate has just enough sweetness without being cloying. Buy this wine, you won't be disappointed. It was a steal at 16 bucks.

I really LOVE this wine... for an 'everyday' drinker, it brings so much fun to the party. It is fat in the mouth and has an nice Puligny nose to it... when I'm craving a powerful white Burgundy but don't want to open one without good reason... I go to this. Try it!

Described to me as a 'baby' amarone... what appeals to me the most about this under $20 quaffer is it's funk- good AGED funk you rarely get at this pricepoint. It has been consistent and everyone who I've served it too - winos and noobs alike - LOVE it. It is hard for me to keep these from being opened.

Had with Bone @ 22 Bowens in Newport - No formal notes taken - $99 on their WE rated list. I don't think I should order an Old Fashioned prior to dinner anymore... really screws with my palate. Bone mentioned she understands the difference between 15 dollar, 50 dollar, and 100 dollar white burgundies now... I agree that this is a FINE example of Village-level Puligny... went nice alongside shucked oysters w/ grilled watermelon mignonette sauce - shrimp cocktail - and a lump crab 'fish taco'. I prefer the 2005 Jadot Puligny to this... there wasn't so much ripe buttery-ness to it but make no mistake this was fine juice.
