Colour very much bricking now. Nose of leather and tobacco leaf sweetness with an exotic touch of incense. This exotic note lasts onto the palate, which has a good amount of cherry fruit, good acidity, providing balance. Tannins are there, giving an essential grip to the wine, but they have a gentleness to them now. Really good and interesting bottle for the money, will buy again.

Good and reliable bottle. Nose of blackcurrant and tobacco, silky mouth feel with tannins rounded off. Good acidity and length, drinking very well right now and will certainly keep.

Deep extraction of colour and nose of plum, cherry and potpourri. 62% Sangiovese gives this wine a good backbone and interesting structure, whilst the Shiraz is fleshy and jammy, but in good balance. Slightly exotic touch of oak which rounds it out nicely.
Not too intense in the mouth but juicy and with good grip from the Sangiovese, this wine has good length on the finish and is very moreish.

This wine is still holding up very well. A bunch of mixed fruits, blackberry, blueberry and raspberry with a well rounded amount of oak. Tannins are still present, but softening. Well judged acidity and a long finish make this a great value wine for the money. Wish I still had a few more bottles.

Uninspiring red really. Although inexpensive, it was a little too soft and lacking any real character. Cherry red, gentle, almost hard to find nose of red fruit. Red cherry on the palate, but too soft and rounded for me. Short dry finish. Glad I gave the other bottle away :D

Dark ruby in the glass. Gorgeous smokey nose with black fruits and slightly herbacious. A mix of black/red fruits in the mouth with a very nice, vibrant acidity cutting through the depth of the nose. Cherry, black current, herbs, licorice, black olive, medium weight in the mouth and a nice freshness to it. Nicely integrated tannins, very reasonable length finish. Drinking well now and will no doubt improve further yet.

Decanted for 2hrs. Nose of tobacco, vanilla and bright red fruit, all with a great depth to them. That depth of fruit jumps out in the mouth with the oak wrapped around it perfectly. The wine has great acidity which balances it's depth. A lovely long finish. This wine is really good now but will be fantastic in another 5 yrs, whether i manage to keep my hands off until then will be another matter.

A good depth of garnet still, fading to the edges. Decanted for 30 mins. Initially, the nose was predominantly vegetal, with a slightly spicy celeriac/mushroom edge to it, but with another 30 mins this started to really open up and an amount of fruit developed to underpin these aromas. Medium palate with a suprising amount of plum and blackberry fruit to it. Slightly meaty with a touch of peppery, earthy spice. Very good acidity, tannins almost fully resolved. This has a very good length finish on it.

Red with a bricked orange/brown to it. Nose of sweet forest fruit and oak. A bright acidity that is balanced well with the fruit, a little earthy and balsamic too. Tannins, pretty much fully resolved, good length finish.Very nice.

Deep, dark red in colour. A full bodied red with lots of blackcurrent, smoke and herbs on the nose. A big fruity mouthfull on the palate, quite brambly too. A good depth and weight, but with freshness and acidity coming through nicely, giving it a good balance. A good length finish and overall very good wine at this price.

Ruby in colour, very clean, clear and light/medium in body. Nose of bright red fruit mixed with earth, leather and slightly floral too.Good grip in the mouth, well judged acidity and oak leading to a reasonably long finish. High in alcohol at 14.5%, but in no way does this really stand out, a testament to it's balance. Very enjoyable.

Still quite deep in colour, with bricking to the rim. Decanted for 1hr or so. A great nose of dark red fruits, cedar and just a slight touch of sandalwood. Quite earthy on the palate, still has good fruit, although a little green. A hint of soy too, tannins quite well resolved but became more obvious later on when finished without food. Would buy again at the right price.

Drinking very well right now. 45 min decant. Deep, dark red in colour. Big nose of raspberries, blueberries and spice. Use of oak is well judged, big, but in balance with the wine. Drinks as it's nose suggests with more of the fruit, concentrated but clean, it has sweetness and a great depth of flavour with a long smooth finish.

Decanted for approx 90 mins. Really nice nose of blackcurrent, cedar and vanilla. Quite powerful in the mouth, good forward fruit, well balanced acidity and nicely judged oak. The palate gives no extra suprises, following the nose precisely to a good finish with nice, gripping tannins. Will obviously keep, but drinking very well right now.

It has a slightly exotic and enticing nose mixed in with a good wack of crunchy red fruit. It has a rustic quality about it coming from the fruit and the rather dry, but not unpleasant tannins. The finish just lets it down a little being a bit too short and soft, still an interesting wine though, and one I would happily have again.

1st great spring day here in the UK (for me anyhow). This bottle rounded of a rather top day. Good crisp citrus nose, gooseberry and melon also. This followed through the same on the palate with a reasonable finish that dried nicely on the end leaving you ready for another mouthful. Went very well with Bbq chicken breast in a orange and basil dressing and some roasted med-veg.

Decided to drink my 2nd bottle of this and it was a definate improvement over the 1st bottle. Fruit, the same plum and liquorice nose, but this time it continued in the mouth, with a little more brambly fruit flavours. There seemed a marked improvement on the finish, which was not so short and dry, and whilst not truly long, it was at least reasonable. Drinking much better now for me.

Decanted for about 45 mins. Dark ruby in colour, but medium/light in body. Gorgeous nose of fresh cherry fruit, with a hint of herbs. In the mouth this is nice and lively, with more of that fruit and freshness. It starts of feeling quite well rounded through it's core, with the tannins sitting around it like a glove, with a very gentle sweetness to the fruit, given depth from notes of tobacco and herbs, also slightly floral, giving way to a savoury finish, where these tannins close around it giving a dry finish of good length. This is really good right now and will be very interesting for a long while yet.

Fairly light bodied, black cherry/red in colour. An enticing nose of blackberry, black cherry, cigar box, all with that slightly exotic Musar edge. Light in the mouth, with more of that black cherry fruit. Good strong acidity balances the gentle sweetness of the fruit, a touch of spice and soap on the exit, tannins that are still quite prominent at the moment. All is very good with this right now, so try one if you have a few, otherwise, hold on for now, it will only get better.

The label got me on this, again, I love it! Thankfully, the contents within is able to hold its own too. Sangiovese (70%) Shiraz (30%). An inviting nose of cherry, raspberry and blueberry with smokines, from the oak, holding them together. In the mouth, this is really juicy, blackberry/cherry, herbs and a touch of peppery spiciness. There is a gentle sweetness to the fruits, but, just enough acidity to keep it in check. No obvious tannins, so stays juicy right through the finish. Really enjoyable.

Dark ruby in colour. Big nose of cherry fruit, vanilla and truffle. More cherry fruit in the mouth, quite intense in flavour. There is creamy vanilla from the oak, giving it depth, but with plenty of bite still in the finish, which is of good length and with a little heat from the alcohol. The tannins give good backbone to the bite from the acidity, keeping this a refreshing mouthfull and a good bottle.
