2/29/2016 - gbm Likes this wine: 89 pointsPlum colored. Clear. Relatively light. Moderately fruity. Soft, slightly musty nose with licorice and leather. . Popped and poured. Aired in the glass for 15-30 min. Still probably has a year or so of life. but still drinking very well right now. Drink em if you got em. |

3/13/2014 - gbm wrote: NRDark garnet. Funky nose - leather, brett. Cola and fizz which blew off somewhat over an hour, but left behind a funky taste. Black fruit and leather still came through, but again not what I was hoping for and not the esprit de Beaucastel. Reminded more of a Pinot noir than a CdP. Will let it sit for a day and see how it goes. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

6/10/2013 - gbm wrote: NRWow! Totally different wine than the last bottle and way different than the 2009. Dark, but translucent purple. Funky nose - brett, cola. Spritzy on the palate. Cola, coffee, leather. Not what I expected and not 100% sure I like it. (It's not what I was after tonight.) It is interesting though. |

4/17/2013 - gbm wrote: NRDeep purple with a little burnt orange around the edge. Nose was very expressive with blackberries, prunes, figs and some pine needles which was fantastic. After that it was all down hill. Very little fruit. None of the raisiny goodness I was expecting. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't something I will buy again. I have a half bottle left. I'll update this TN if it gets any better. But for now - (4+14+16+6). |

4/12/2013 - gbm Likes this wine: 95 pointsCrystal clear (which is a change from prior vintages where it was a bit cloudy) and the color of apple juice. Very aromatic - lots of citrus, pineapple and hints of vanilla and honey(?). Tropical fruit dominates on the palate. Butter and oak are low level background and make for a nice balance. Really a great wine and probably my favorite white. (5+14+17+9) |

4/12/2013 - gbm wrote: 89 pointsH/btl. Bought on a flyer from the LastBottle marathon. Crystal clear, very light yellow. Nose was a bit closed. Palate was dominated by minerality - the word 'austere' came to mind. A little green apple. Nice, but nothing special for me. Finish was short and crisp. Overall, nice wine. (5+11+16+7) |

3/3/2013 - gbm Likes this wine: 94 pointsCharity Auction Dinner (The Farm): Fantastic. Beautiful pale nut brown. Nose was nuts, toffee, figs. Palate was smooth with hazelnut and some creme brulee. Smooth finish without the alcohol I was expecting at the end. This will be gone in days. Need to find more. (4+14+18+8) |

3/3/2013 - gbm Likes this wine: 91 pointsCharity Auction Dinner (The Farm): Somehow, I can best remember this wine in comparison to the other two we drank at the same time ('07 Sorella and '05 Croix du Beaucaillou). It was lighter and smoother than the Beaucaillou, but far less floral and expressive than the Sorella. |

3/3/2013 - gbm Likes this wine: 95 pointsCharity Auction Dinner (The Farm): Amazing wine. Dark, inky purple with a very complex, floral nose. Possibly too much. Some chocolate notes. 3/3/2013 - gbm Likes this wine: 90 pointsCharity Auction Dinner (The Farm): This was a serious wine. Probably could have used more time in a decanter, but it definitely improved in the glass over 20-30 minutes. Deep, dark opaque purple. Inky. Nose was somewhat closed. Some funky, earthy scents which carried over to the palate but were kind of lost in the leather and oak. Still, very good wine and exactly what I was expecting. Actually, I little better than I was expecting. Long, smooth finish. (4+12+17+7) |

3/3/2013 - gbm Likes this wine: 95 pointsCharity Auction Dinner (The Farm): I finally get it! I am not a big champagne fan, but vintage champagne - wow! This was fantastic. Beautiful golden color in the glass. Almost no visible bubbles. The nose was brioche, vanilla, and yeast, but the yeast was moderate - not overpowering. Faint soft bubbles on the palate. Smooth and sharp. All around terrific. I could have had the whole bottle by myself. (5+14+18+8) |
