From memory: Interesting fruit notes and some minerality but not as exciting as I would have expected.
We paid $13.33 bottle and I think that is good QPR.

We have some more bottles and I am going to try it with braised rabbit and see if it fares better.

A tasty dessert wine. Good tropical fruit, plus some apricot, honey and caramel. We had most of this wine with a pate of pork, duck and goose livers (with a little sauternes included), and it was a wonderful, textbook pairing, reducing the perceived sweetness of the wine and the caramel, in favor of the other component parts. Very tasty.

You can drink now but can definitely age some more.

With Sue and Jen Rex in Princeton, NJ.

Good wine, with cherry, raspberry, herbs, spice, rhubarb. We had this with buffalo burgers (a true medium rare), topped with grilled mushrooms and onions, which was a great pairing, as the slight sweetness of the buffalo paired with the wine.

The wine was good but I expected it to be better (based upon the notes and past bottles). We got this from JJ Buckley. Not sure if there was something about the batch, their storage, shipment, etc., as all this wine has all been just a touch under expectations.
We paid $20 plus shipping (750 ml) and $13 (375 ml): ok QPR.

Dinner at Mistral (Princeton) with Bala, Jen, Sue and Tash (Princeton, NJ): A tasty wine. Lovely notes of pear, apple, acidity, minerality. Best with the oysters and with the rabbit and the burratta. Very dry wine - perhaps too dry for Sue and JRex. But I loved it.
We got this on close-out at State Line Liquor (in MD) and it was the only bottle they had. Delicious now but could definitely age some more, too.

A beautifully-made wine: low-yielding 60 - 80 year old vines, biodynamic viticulture, 30% of the juice fermented on the skins for six weeks, twelve months in 600 litre "Halbstück" barrels, bottled unfiltered in September 2008 under screwcap (convenient for restaurant drinking)

An interesting wine. Very California-sytled. Notes of cherry, cola, forest floor, caramel, plum and a touch of licorice, and showing its 15.2% alcohol. Not especially faithful to the varietal, this wine would be great with barbecue. We had it with salmon (Atlantic and sockeye) and it was especially good with the sockeye and the sautéed mushrooms.

Good QPR for $15 but not for $40 retail.

Drink now (before the fruit fades and the alcohol becomes more prominent)
