12/4/2020 - NobleRot Likes this wine: 95 pointsInky garnet, opaque, looks vibrant. Doesn’t look like an almost 20-year old wine. Big nose of blackcurrants, clove, anise, and graphite. A touch of mocha. Full-bodied palate of dark fruits and some preserves. Ultra velvety tannins. This has no signs of slowing down. |

8/25/2020 - NobleRot Likes this wine: 92 pointsDay 1: Splash decanted and then poured back into the bottle. Seemed like pouring 10w30. Very dark opaque purple/black. Blueberries, dark fruits galore. Some oak and just a touch of eucalyptus. Yes, it’s hot, but it’s an Aussie Shiraz. Medium- to full-bodied with a hint of acidity on a decent finish. |

8/24/2020 - NobleRot Likes this wine: 90 pointsDecided to double decant. Almost purplish black in color. Some lightening around the edges. Blackberries, blueberries, kirsch, shiitakes, and same bacon fat. Lots of dark fruits throughout. |

7/7/2020 - NobleRot wrote: 88 pointsRuby colored, red fruits on the nose and palate. Light- to medium-bodied. High acidity, okay finish. This is the second bottle I’ve had of this in the last few months, the first one being better. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (9) |

9/13/2006 - NobleRot wrote: 90 pointsVery herbaceous. A totally different kind of zinfandel. Extremely green peppery, not something you'd expect from a zin, much less a Turley. Much more enjoyable as the night progressed. |

8/18/2006 - NobleRot wrote: 90 pointsThis is the best showing of this wine. Dark fruits on the nose with a hint of eucalyptus. Medium to full bodied. Enough tannins and structure to last 3-4 years IMO. |

7/30/2006 - NobleRot wrote: 92 pointsThis has a very dark inky purple color. Pouring this into the glass is like pouring 10W-40! This is not for the faint at heart. On the nose, I noticed some dark fruits, camphor and something I'd call an Old World element, leather maybe? This is a full-bodied cab at its best, very fruit-driven and full of tannins. Oak is definitely noticeable. It has enough acidity to balance the fruitiness. This is approachable now but I imagine it will get better in a year or two. |

7/30/2006 - NobleRot wrote: 91 pointsThis wine has a very dark garnet color. It has an aroma that's reminiscent of blackberries, toffee, some notes of vanilla notes and brown sugar. It is medium- to full-bodied, very fruit-driven with some sweet tannins. It has an impressive finish. There is no mistaking this for an old world wine. |

7/22/2006 - NobleRot wrote: 93 pointsThis bottle is normally $50, but I purchased it for $38.99. I must say that this wine is fifty dollars good though. The wine is a very dark red, almost entirely opaque. The wine itself looks thick and viscous, and mind you, it is thick and viscous on the palate! It screams mocha and black currants on the nose, with a hint of mint and brown sugar. There is no doubt this cab is California--it's fruit-forward and full of black fruits on the palate. It is full-bodied with somewhat pronounced tannins, which I think will settle down with a few years in the bottle. The finish is very long which can be indicative of its potential in 5-7 years. Great value--especially considering how much Napa cabs can be lately. |

7/19/2006 - NobleRot wrote: 90 pointsStill one of the best QPR Cabs I've had. Dark ruby color, with a classic Bordeaux nose of graphite, tobacco, cassis and currant. On the palate, lots of black fruits with round sweet tannins. The wine finishes long--certainly not bad for an $11 cab. |

7/6/2006 - NobleRot wrote: 86 pointsDark purple, almost opaque in color. On the nose, currant and cassis, with a little bit of heat. On the palate, this wine was a little acidic with some angular tannins. I would presume this was an off bottle. My last one. Whew. |

6/21/2006 - NobleRot wrote: 91 pointsAnother great bottle. My last one from '03. Explosive nose of chocolate and mocha. A bit dusty tannins, medium-full bodied on the palate. Noticed a tad of heat on the finish but dissipated over time. |

6/15/2006 - NobleRot wrote: 89 pointsI thought this was a bit disjointed. Monolithic nose, on the palate it was very hot, although it was 15.6% after all. Upon opening, it was just filled with blueberry jam. As it sat in the glass, the fruit seemed to have dissipated. I have 2 more, we'll see how they turn out in a few years. |
