Soft on the palate, slight texture and plenty of tangy fruit. Imagine a citrus and orchard fruit salad but without the acidity. Oddly compelling. |

Hmm. |

3/13/2022 - chatters wrote: NRSupper matches (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Cream, butter, polished oak, blackberry and blackcurrant tending to Cassis with a little herbaceous underpin and plenty of sweet spice, a touch of red liquorice with time. Medium plus intensity acidity, juicy and slightly jubey black fruits, tannins are quite floury textured and tug at the mid palate...there is a little green note her as well. Compared to the 95's there is a bit more 'stuffing' and concentration. Pretty good and in a nice spot. |

Juicy, tangy, the fruit is beginning to dry out very slightly , tannins are persistent, moderately drying, all travel long with a little beetroot note on the the finish. Okay. |

3/13/2022 - chatters wrote: NRSupper matches (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Red and blackcurrant, leather, Autumn leaves, wet earth, a little Asian five spice and a smidge of soy. Juicy, surprisingly freshly fruity, tannins are talc textured and last longer than the fruit on the finish though the tertiary notes of leather, slight mushroom and some subtle soy replace the fruit. It's not dried out though, rather nice. |

3/12/2022 - chatters wrote: NRRiley Harrison in store tasting (Five Way Cellars, Paddington): Violet, pepper, pretty nose with dark hued fruits in support and a tiny smidge of volatility. Fresh acid lends juiciness, fleshy but, again, lacks fruit of the amount of tannins (like the grenache) and the fruit that is there proves a little sour... |

3/15/2022 - chatters wrote: NRCoravin fun - Leoville Barton; 3/8/2022-3/15/2022 (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Initially this is quite closed showing dense dark hued fruits, sweet spice, cream and polished oak. With time (and agitation) the fruit grows but without really revealing it's underlying components - think a black fruit compote where blackcurrant is the main constituent. There is also an almost toasted coffee note here. In the mouth it's juicy, fleshy and generous, black fruit compote again with blackcurrant the most obvious component but also a little blackberry and plum. Tannins are drying with plenty of gum grip but work with, rather than against, the fruit. All travel long. Still young but drinkable now (with a decant) and showing great promise. Lovely. 6 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

Medium minus intensity aromas initially show slightly dusty red fruits, a little mint...as time passes it starts to show a lot of earthiness with a pretty red cherry underpin and a touch of meatiness. Juicy, wet, cherry, slightly herbaceous, talc textured tannins are very slightly green. Quite lightweight. Hmm. |

With agitation the fruit get's a jubey/lozenge note which lends prettiness to the nose, smidge of star anise here as well. In the mouth there is a slight sourness to the black fruits which lends some tarty piquancy, tannins are floury textured and feel dialled down to match to the weight of the fruit. Medium plus length. Hmm. |
