Golden yellow. Orange peel, mineral apricot and stone fruit nose. Smooth attack, with a long long finish that starts in the mid palate and goes on forever. Right in its window now.

Unfortunately probably a few years past its best. The fruit had all but given away. Still quite acidic too actually. Enjoyable none the less.

Ink ruby red colour. Lots of black currant, with a little raspberry on the nose. Palate is medium bodied, and the fruits get darker and anise towards the end of a fairly long finish. The right amount of tannin and acid for a wine of this age. Tasty.

Clear dark Ruby red colour. The nose has lots going on - blackberry, cedar, licorice and pepper. Medium bodied, fresh young acid and a long anise finish. Enjoyable but will get better.

Bright clear red. Pronounced nose, wet stone, red and black fruits, a little spice as well. Rich palate, fills the mouth wide from beginning to end with a long finish full of balanced acid. Has lots to go on with, but fresh and delicious drinking now.

Deep golden colour. Nose showing the complexities of age. Lemon cake, melon and creamy oak. A hint of something earthy as well like wet slate. The palate is full and rich, the acid all but gone leaving a long creamy finish. Drink up, don't think these are getting any better.

Straw colour, paler side of golden. Nose of bees wax, a little honey, lemon, a little mineral as well. Palate is very dry with a sweetness around the edges. Dryness gives way to a long sweeter finish than the beginning. Almost like there are two wines in there. Beautiful strange.

Deep brick red colour. Somewhat pronounced nose, floral and blueberries. Red and black fruit on the palate, fine pepper in the finish which is of medium length. Tannin has all but integrated, a little right at the end. Right in its window but probably has a few years yet.

Deep red colour. Complex nose. White pepper, flowers, and something almost ashen I can't quite put my finger on. Alcohol noticeable but it's not to much detriment. A really spicy palate, fine pepper around the fruit, really elegant and restrained. Lovely balance. Long finish that left my palate zinging. Really good stuff drinking really well now.

Inky red with a purple hue. Bright pronounced nose of cassis and violet. The palate is more of the same, with a fresh acidity that encapsulates the cassis and cherry through to a long finish. Will go on. The rest are going away for a while!

Colour is beginning to become a little more golden. The nose is bright citrus with kerosine, but the fruit seems to be coming to the front more as the gets older. Palate is lively lemon and lime, lovely tingly acid which also feels like its softening, becoming creamy. Will continue to hold.

A brightly hued wine at the moment, red moving to purple. Looks young, but not overly young. The nose is dry and spicy fruit. The palate is young ripe cassis, with very savoury drying tannin. It really fills the width of the mouth, with a medium to long finish that leave you smacking your tongue. It's savoury and chewy but in a really good way. It certainly needs some time down, but everything is delicately balanced for what i think is going to be a very impressive wine. Hold for as long as possible.

Colour is a luminous cherry red, bright and clear. The nose is pronounced cassis and pepper spice, smells a little hot also. The palate is medium bodied and easy drinking, it fills the mouth nicely with more cassis. It is somewhat balanced, with a medium to long finish backed by fine tannin but it ends with too much acid for mine, possibly the alcohol? Drink now i think.

Bright, clear golden green in colour. The nose is lemon cheesecake, a little buttered. The palate has a good balance from start right through to a long, round creamy toasted oak finish. It left me with an ever so slightly bitter acidic aftertaste which is perhaps a small flaw. Enjoyable none the less!

Vivid clear red colour. Nose is spicy & meaty. Palate is very smooth and balanced, with a lovely lift in the middle palate but lacks a little concentration for me to give it higher. Tannins are very very fine. Finish is medium.

Red with still a little purple. Very pronounced nose, cassis, vanilla, sweet spice. Palate has concentrated fruit with good tannin, which become more evident as the bottle goes on. There is a concentration to this wine that I like. Halliday's notes think there is a little too much tannin but for my taste it's good structure.

Edit 28/12/14: Upon further reflection, with this wine already being 5 years old Halliday is probably right about the tannin is a little too prevalent. Still think its worth more than the 87 he gave this however.

Pale straw colour with some golden touches. The nose has lemon, green apple and a lovely mineral flinty characteristic with a touch of kerosine. The palate is wonderful and broad bursting with citrus that gets cut through by a fine line of acidity that then lifts it up and carries it though to a very long finish. Really lovely stuff. Very approachable right now.
