Opened and immediately decanted. Served within the half hour. In short, perfect. Reflects a zinfandel perfectly. No flaws. Some sediment. Dark color. Moderate rim variation. Soft nose. Low tannin. Low acid. Medium alcohol. Medium finish. Perfect pairing with grilled sausage and barbeque baby back ribs. In the 1.5L bottle this one's ready to enjoy!

This wine has changed dramatically since our last taste in 2011 and sadly this is our last bottle! It must have peaked because this is a beautiful California cabernet. No flaws. No sediment. Dark garnet color. Beautiful dark floral and fruit nose. Full of flavor. Low tannin. Low acid. Medium alcohol and a medium finish. Paired perfectly with barbecue ribs. Drink up!

Still stunning, and sadly, our last bottle. Paired perfectly with foie gras and duck confit. Very mature wine. Ages extremely well. No flaws. Minimal sediment. Moderate rim variation. Dark garnet color. Soft bouquet. Low tannin and acid. Low to medium alcohol. Medium to long finish. Again, beyond peak, but very very drinkable. Still ready to drink, and, several years of bottle life left in this one.

Well, I wanted burgers and bordeaux for Father's Day. And, I got burgers and bordeaux for Father's Day. This is an absolute jewel of a wine, and, sadly our last. Paired perfectly with grilled hamburgers and fresh garden cabbage with lemon vinagrette, feta cheese, and currants. In short, not a hiccup with this one. No flaws. Mild to moderate sediment. Dark ruby garnet color. Amazing nose. European and old world. Dark fruits, dark flowers, classic bordeaux. All of the flavors to match. Low tannin and acid. Medium alcohol. Long, beautiful finish. Perfectly drinkable and certainly well within its window.

Our one and only bottle. Opened in celebration of American Pharoh's triple crown victory and a simple, beautiful weekend at home. First, what an amazing vintage wine this was. At peak, it must have been one beautiful wine. At 24 years, it still is! Opened blind to my bride, and, her first comment: This is French. And, that sums up the tasting note: This wine had all of the character of an aged Bordeaux. Paired perfectly with filet mignon and fresh green garden vegetables. We'll be saving the bottle!

Remains singularly exceptional. Regrettably our last bottle. Tasting is consistent with my/our ratings of 2012 and 2013. Know little about this varietal and it's California roots. Completely flawless. No rim variation. No sediment. Amazing nose. Earthy. Old world. Spicy. Dark garnet color. A little tantalizing bitterness in the taste. Low tannin. Low acid. Medium alcohol. Long finish. Certainly drinkable. No idea on cellar life. I think this jewel would go for years to come. Enjoy.

Sadly, our last bottle of this vintage, my personal opinion: This beast of a wine is at peak. This is singularly the best California Pinot I have ever tasted. No flaws. No sediment. Moderate rim variation. No flaws. No sediment. Amazing old world nose. This baby is full of dirt and earth. You nose this wine and you think: This is dirt. No tannin. No acid. Medium alcohol. Long finish. Just simply amazing. At peak, and, perfectly drinkable. Paired perfectly with twice smoked ham. Ready to drink, and, enjoy.

Absolutely amazing. Our first taste of PM Ma Danseuse. And, regrettably, our only bottle of this vintage. Could be the best American Pinot we have enjoyed and tasted. Very Burgundian, but very full bodied. Has all of the nose and flavors of a Burgundy, but, very full bodied. Amazing. Highly opaque. Purple garnet color. A little rim variation. No sediment. No flaws. High fruit intensity. High earth intensity. Bold, bold, bold. Aroma of dark fruits and flowers. Dry. Low acid and tannin. Medium alcohol. Long, long finish. Perfectly drinkable. Paired perfectly tonight with corned beef. At peak, I don't know. Again, ready to drink and I suspect, plenty of bottle life left. Enjoy.

Sadly, our last of three bottles. This is an exceptional wine. Flawless. No sediment. Very minimal rim variation. Highly opaque, dark, dark purple color. High fruit and earth intensities. The aroma has black pepper, leather, herbs, and iron/blood. Dark fruit and flowers are present. Dry. Medium minus acid and tannin. Medium alcohol. Long finish. This is a beast! Paired perfectly with filet mignon. Perfectly drinkable and approachable. Still a baby in my opinion. This absolutely exceptional wine must have plenty of bottle life left. If you have it, drink up, but, I wish I had more to cellar. This is a true beauty.

Transparent golden yellow color. A little rim variation and a little sediment. No flaws. Low fruit and earth intensity. Aroma of apple, pears, lemon, lime, banana and pineapple. Come creamy butter and caramel aroma as well. Dry. Medium acid. Low tannin. Medium alcohol. Short finish. Opened up better after one hour. Then, the big surprise. Had two glasses left. Returned to the bottle at 7 hours after cork pulled. Wine was amazing. Seven hours of breathing made the color more yellow, restored the nose and flavors intensified. Would recommend you taste a glass first, then, let this big wine breathe. Ready to drink.

The star of the weekend. 1997 must have been a great year, this wine is flawless for its age. Highly opaque, garnet color. A lot of rim variation. A little sediment. Medium fruit and earth intensity. Organic. Aromas of dark fruit and flowers, leather, black pepper, iron and blood. Bone-Dry. Medium acid. Medium minus tannin. Medium minus alcohol. And a medium to long finish. This wine is ready to drink! Perhaps beyond peak, but, at 18 years I certainly wish that this wasn't our last bottle. And, I suspect its got several years of bottle life left in it. Major Kudos to Beringer.
