2/16/2024 - jhkey Likes this wine: NRWow. My oldest bottle yet. Amazing amount of fruit and structure left. This is in fantastic shape. The cork was 3/4 saturated but clean at the top and came out full. Black fruits, orange peel, clove, eucalyptus and tobacco. Great finish. At least 5 years left on this but wow. |

8/4/2023 - jhkey Likes this wine: NRBlack cherry and dried cherry, baking spices, clove. Cedar, eucalyptus. Violets and lavender. High acidity. Medium+ tannins, long finish. Wow, surprisingly long finish. This wine is fantastic for this price point. It’s singing at age 13. I can’t imagine it getting any better but it seems to continue to defy the odds. I have one more I need to drink in the next year. |

1/29/2021 - jhkey wrote: 91 pointsThe other recent notes here are pretty spot on so I won’t elaborate much more. Suffice it to say this is delicious and in its prime. Decanted for an hour and really enjoyed with pasta and alone. The floral notes are quite alluring and bring to mind something Barolo-eque but also quite different. How’s that for a Davis wheel note? Enjoy now and over the next few years. I have 2 bottles remaining and will pop the next one with friends. |

8/7/2020 - jhkey Likes this wine: 91 pointsDrank my last one. This is singing now but still plenty of life left. It improved over the time we enjoyed it, opening up with a more expressive nose of leather and spice. Very Well balanced. Wish the finish was a bit longer. Probably has a few more years in it but you can’t go wrong drinking now with an hour decant. |

12/7/2018 - jhkey Likes this wine: NRY’all must have had some storage issues. Been in the wine cellar at ~58 degrees and is in great shape. Perfect aged Chianti still showing on all levels. I thought it would be over the hill but was pleasantly surprised and impressed. No formal notes. |

2/21/2018 - jhkey Likes this wine: 93 pointsReally surprised by the lower scores on this, perhaps drinking it too young? This wine is peaking now, it's beautiful and amazing, I could get lost in the nose alone. Drank after quick decant. Classic Barolo nose - a wonderful mix of blue fruits, orange zest and woodsy forest with earthy undertones. Incredibly balanced tannin and acid and med-long finish. After spending the first course buried in the nose, it paired perfectly with lamb and beef ribs slow roasted in coconut milk. |
