Very good wine, especially at this level. The wine was in a regular refrigerator and was very tight and closed upon opening. As it came up to a better temperature it opened more. My notes are from when it was at a better temperature.

Straw yellow color and clear.

Medium intensity nose with aromas of wet stone, very light smoke, apples and pear

On the palate the intensity was medium. Flavors of minerals drove this wine with peach, golden apples, light vanilla and oak spice. The acidity was medium+ and the finish was medium+.

Very good quality with good balance. I'll like to try this again in a few years to see how it's evolving as I think it will improve with age.

Secondary fermentation happened in bottle including bubbles on the sides of the wine glass. This should not have happened at this level of wine. I'm concerned for my other bottle.

Brought to a BYOB sushi place and did not take motes at the time of drinking. I liked the light raspberry notes blended with chalky notes. IT's a good summer sipper but it needs to be chilled.

This was a delicious bottle that worked well with my Thai food. No notes were taken when I drank it but it was excellent and well balanced.

Brought to a 2010 Brunello di Montalcino tasting. DEcanted about 1 hour then back in bottle for another before drinking.

This was my (and other's) wine of the night. No notes taken at drinking. The quality of the fruit shines through but this needed more time. The flavors and acidity were balanced by elegant tannins. I'm a bit surprised it was this approachable now but that's what is being said of the wines of this vintage.

I agree this is a leaner style of Mearsault but it does have some ripe citrus fruit notes. Along with the vanilla of oak it also shows mineral notes. There is nice length on the finish as well. Very good for a village level wine.

This is still holding on to it's fruit but it's clear that time will not improve this wine. I'd drink it sooner rather than later. Still the dark cherry flavors mix with leather and tertiary notes. Good QPR.

Had as part of 1995 Barolo tasting.
- Nice nose of tar, violets and dark cherry

Had this wine with home made red sauce, 3 meat meatballs & sausage. Decanted3+ hours before drinking. It worked very well with the dinner.
- On the nose very ripe red fruit, sweet cherry, sassparilla, leather and a bit of heat.
- On the palate the ripe red fruit notes mingle with leather, light menthol & some earthy notes. The tannins are present but more in the dusty range. There is some acidity but it is not strong. A touch of heat on the back end is not disturbing. Overall it fared much better than many wines from the hot 2000 vintage.

There continues to be a bitter green note (stems? unripe seeds?) that continues to hold this wine back. The tannins don;t seem fully ripe but there are correct notes of sour red cherry and slight spice notes.
