A wonderful nose, in other words, very rich. Medium full body on the palate, with a nectarous texture. Not bone dry, but rather rich and elegant. The finish is exceptionally long, recapping all of the aromas in the form of flavors. An amazing bottle. The level of alcohol, 22%, means that it is rather potent. But otherwise wonderful. |

In the glass, notes of black licorice and spice emerge, just a really beautiful type example of what Zinfandel can be. Perhaps the mysticism one might associate with 135 year old vines just isn’t there, but it’s damn good. |
