4/13/2024 - AGELVIS Likes this wine: 96 pointsOpened the day prior (Vacuvin’d overnight). The color is what Bevan calls “bull’s blood”. Plum skin, dark raspberry Fruit Roll-up, chaparral, spicy cocoa, sea salt, and subtle forest floor. Dry, satiny palate, with nice, lingering acidity. Very full (and somewhat firm) tannins on the longish finish. |

4/12/2024 - AldoExcelsior Likes this wine: 93 pointsUpon uncorking :The nose is hints of green pepper and nutmeg. It had great bodying viscosity and gave you a buttery umami feel on the palate. its tannins were not overwhelming but present in the background with plenty of fruit upon tasting. The finish was well rounded and tasting it a day later we noted the tannins were still present but softer. |

4/10/2024 - ThistleB Likes this wine: 92 pointsDark cherry and blackberry on the nose and palate. Lots of i]oak, but not overbearing. Needed about 90 minutes to soften and open up. Drank over 2 nights and it was fantastic both nights. A lot of sediment, so I recommend decanting. |

3/31/2024 - Raro Likes this wine: 92 pointsDrinking beautiful right now, great value. Super rich in sweet fruits and a hint of tobacco on the nose, well balanced on the palate, with an almost sweet finish, enjoyed it with a homemade charcuterie board with plenty of richer cheeses and meats and it paired very well. Wish I had more of this! |

3/25/2024 - SawgrassSteve Likes this wine: 93 pointsDon't you love when you stumble across wine in your cellar you forgot about? I bought this in 2019, I won't tell you what I paid for it but WOW, what QPR!? We all know Atlas Peak is known for their Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and this does not disappoint. On the nose, black fruit, with hints of pepper. The blackberry, currants, vanilla hit mid palate and even though it's 15.8 ABV you wouldn't know it. Nice complexity and long finish with medium acidity. |

3/24/2024 - Badmonkey wrote: 93 pointsCurious in light of the 97 rating from Suckling. Dark ruby fruit - currants, blackberry, and dark raspberry. Smooth mid-palate with decent depth/concentration - medium/medium plus body. Nice flavors of cassis, some spice, oak, and a mineral/graphite component. Fairly long finish. Decanted for five hours and drank over a couple more. Improved a little with time. Revisited on day three and it was better as it opened-up further. Obviously really young and some improvement is expected with more time but I don’t see the 97 rating - hopefully more time proves me wrong. In my opinion, the 93+ and 94 ratings from Dunnuck and WE make more sense. According to Dunnuck, give it three to five years which I can’t argue due to the improvement on day three and the mountain fruit source on Atlas Peak. A solid cab at $79 in the secondary market but interesting price disparity with the Winery direct price. 100% cab. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |
