Cherries, raspberries, lactic and animals in the bouquet. Same on the palate, sweet spices, ok tannin and refreshing acidity. Nice and refreshing wine. Ready now and the next few years.

Intriguing nose with cinnamon and chocolate. On the palate some red fruits, chocolate, nice balance between acidity and sweetness, soft and mature tannin. Nice wine. Ready now.

darker cherry and more herb that any of the other bottlings. this is their one Barolo that gets some barrique aging. It's not highly toasted. overall, a harder, more tannic wine with heft and power.

Wow, big and juicy in a slightly modern style. Perfect balance and so approachable now. Loads of tar and truffle oil with mushroom earth and strawberry/cherry fruit. Tangy finish that lasts with lots of acidity and lingering cedar notes and cherry fruit. Stunning, can't wait to see where this goes.

The wine was slightly corked, but was less noticeable on the second day. Almost poured it down the drain after the first sip, but the funk seemed to blow off a little by day 2. Still corked, but not so bad that it couldn't be drunk. Had nice potential for a $20, but nothing special. Light, but complex. Firm tannin.

Complex, the aromas come up to meet you when the cork is removed. Tannins still evident, so it wants decanting or time open. Lots of life left in bottle.

Concentrated and complex nose with list of oak, roses and some licorice. Nice velvety tannins but a little "thinner" than I remember from the previous bottle. Still a great Barolo but lacks the concentration to score higher. Medium long aftertaste.

Medium dark ruby core with brick red hue, it has a concentrated nose, a little sweet and meaty, with plenty of dark fruits and dark cherry.
On the palate it showing lots of structure, with ample fruits to support, namely dark cherry and plum fruits.
Nice long finish with fine grippy tannins.

Taste had nice fruit that was initially light and balanced flavors that built as the wine was held in the mouth. Long lingering tannins. This was my #2 favorite Barolo of the night

Good, but not fantastic, Barolo. Light purple, decanted 2 hours - helped smooth out the wine. Strong tannins, solid structure, very nice bouquet, long and strong finish.

Fullbodied and densely tannic palate with bright acidity. Salt liquorice, dusty oak and something vegetal with slight blackcurrants character. Long oaky finish.

Only my second time with this maker. Deeper in color and character than the 90 Gaja Barbaersco. Much darker in profile with tarry, savory , balsamic aromas. There's still roses, but more darness, power and meatiness. Brooding dark flavors of balsam, plums, tar and anise. This has excellent balance, with a beautiful floral component that plays beautifully with the blacker flavors and an almost meat reduction savory background. Big fine tannins creep in on the back end. This is outstanding stuff at peak with no fear of going downhill anytime soon. Excellent

Beautiful color with ruby red base and brick at the edges. Good smell with lots of things going on, roses, some oak, cherry and licorice with a hint of tar all in a perfect balance. This Barolo is not of the tougher type, rather more subtle with an elegant balance of acid, tannins and alcohol. Improved a lot after 1-2 hours in the decanter. Marvelous wine that is surprisingly accessible now
