Second bottle is significantly better; First bottle was definitely flawed. No seepage on the cork for the second bottle.

The acidity, fruit, and tannins are in balance.
Cherry, raspberry, sour blueberry, black cherry. A hint of cocoa. The tannins are present but soft and rounded. Enough acidity to keep the wine fresh. Not out of balance like previous TN.
This is really nice. 90-91.
Diam cork please =)

The Bougetz delivery arrived on Wednesday and I couldn't resist opening this on Thursday. There's no particular evidence that I was being too rash. The wine starts with a big blast of oak, then blackberry and chocolate and cocoa. It's not sweet, and there is a nice level of acidity that keeps it in balance, but the aftertaste is a little light, and so I worry that the fruit is not really robust enough for the deluxe treatment. But it's fine for what it is, would be popular as a party wine.

Cork showing some notable seepage but not all the way through
Acidity is fairly high. Getting some VA.
On the palate, get some light tannins. Strong black cherry notes. Lots of red fruit. Cherry, raspberry.
Made in a early drinking style with the softer tannins.

Unfortunately, did not enjoy this bottle a great deal. Not enough structure to balance out the acid. Hoping the next one shows better with tamed acidity. Maybe a flawed bottle? Will withhold score until next bottle.

Drank at a restaurant. Simply opened the bottle and let it sit for a half hour. Would have much preferred to pour into a decanter and let sit for closer to an hour. It is a spectacular wine (especially if properly served). In this case, it started to open up after pouring into everyone's glasses.
Very well made, smooth and balanced. Very nice finish.

Black cherry and blueberry nose with maybe a little vanilla and leather, super inviting aromas. Moderate tannins and acidity. Plush mouthfeel with some dark fruit, as well as some spice. Drinking very well right now

Wow, if this isn’t the best QPR ever. For this price, it’s drinking well outside its league. This is a big cab with purple and blue fruit and nice oak

We still love this wine, but, over the years of aging, there has been a slight change. This was a 2011 vintage that always drank just fine.
Several years ago, we could open the bottle and serve right away.
Now, it needs a little while to open up. Did not decant. Just opened the bottle and poured a small amount into the glass to periodically taste. A bit of a warning. It was not tasting all that good straight out of the bottle. But it evolved after about a half hour. And, as always, a simply wonderful, extremely drinkable wine.

Paired this with Allen Brothers prime steaks for a Sunday School party. Everyone appeared to enjoy the wine, no complaints. I found the wine to have a moderated finish with balanced acidity and mild tannins, so it suited my palette. This wine is drinking very well now and still has a few more years in the bottle.

Dark ferrous bloody red. Nose has bright red berries, lingonberries, ripe red cherries, some tart pinot-typical cranberries, very slight touch of lift, almost VA but not anything that really bothers, rosemary, and hint of oak. Palate is fresh, nice acidity with ripe fruit. It has a nice mouthfeel. Red fruit, cranberries, and a distinct spiciness that follows through the nice finish. Good Pinot, somewhat simple and linear but this can take a few years and develop some complexity and will become something really good.

Dark opaque purple. Nice Napa nose with ripe cassis, currants, oak, some tobacco. Also has just a touch of secondary notes with a little fig and raisins. Full bodied with silky mouthfeel and decent touch of acidity, creme de cassis, darker red fruit, not overripe or jammy in any way. Good stuff. Finishes long and pleasant.

Intense bouquet of black fruit (cassis) and leather with cigarbox and cardamom, juicy, alcohol covered, nicely integrated, medium-long finish. Not sure why it's "parched."

Purple/ruby. Initially lots of brett with band aid on pop and pour. Decanted 24 hours. Nose with cassis, dark cherries, oak, alcohol, chocolate.
Full bodied palate with spices, dark cassis and currants, touch of tart underripe strawberries, some tobacco, finishes long and a little tart with nice good quality tannins. I was surprised with the amount of brett it had with very strong band air that takes 24+ hours to blow off, and even then is still sort of hangs in there. It has nice freshness to it with the slight tart red fruit and touch of acidity, it keeps the dark currants in a nice balance. Good stuff!

We have a lot of bottles of the 2016, had been drinking it fairly regularly, and then took a break for 3 or 4 months.
This time, we were at a house, and were able to aerate for 5 minutes. That made a difference.
With that break, with the proper preparation of the wine, we were once more able to appreciate what a marvelous wine this is. The Prominence shows well against other, more expensive wine. It's a gem.

30 min - dark chocolate, blueberries, pomegranate, rose water, definitely sense the herbal side from the CF, the nose is almost all Merlot, medium bodied, this is not a bruiser

60 min - put on some weight, CF showing some florals (crushed white and purple flowers) and tobacco on the nose, some orange spice black tea notes as well, not as bitter on the back end, tart cherry and pomegranate dominating the palate

At 90 min this plateaued with no further improvement

Elegance at a great price point with plenty of acid to age. More BDX than Napa but no barnyard. This is a well made wine with a great QPR but I think it needs food to shine brighter. Will continue buying on Berserkerday!

We did not decant or otherwise air out.
I think it would have helped, as the last glass an hour in was much more satisfying.
However, first impressions are what counts, and our guests were not impressed as normal when we serve a bottle of Prominence.
