Interesting technical details from the website: This wine is the product of two organically-farmed Sta. Rita Hills vineyards (Spear and Robert Rae). "75% whole cluster fermentation...30+ days on the skins.... Pressed into neutral French oak barrels for aging." Lovely aromatic balance between red fruits and dust, graphite, and earthy funk. Dry mouthfeel, nice tannins and acidity. Flavors tend toward tart strawberry, fresh red raspberry, and raspberry hard candy. Mid-palate is long and smooth, aftertaste is reminiscent of the earthy aromas. Terrific quality, really like this style of Grenache! |
