6/21/2018 - air guitar & pinot noir Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis was a pleasant surprise and a nice drinking experience. Both aromatics and the palate delivered enjoyable red fruit. Nice mouth feel and smooth delivery. Accessible and enjoyable and over performed at the price point. |

6/1/2018 - air guitar & pinot noir Likes this wine: 90 pointsI really enjoy this value priced Pinot. It performs well above the price point. It has great texture and mouthfeel- silky and smooth. Great fruit flavors, predominately red fruit. Very easy to drink and enjoy. Not overly complex but certainly nothing wrong in the glass here. |

5/30/2018 - Dagalaifus wrote: 85 pointsI am an enormous fan of the winemaker Kent Humphrey, who also makes the quasi-eponymous Eric Kent wines. I enjoyed earlier vintages of this Sauvignon Blanc (See my tasting note on 2014). This vintage, however, not so much. It is straw yellow in the glass with a nose of citrus and melon. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and slightly effervescent with grapefruit, pineapple, melon and creamy oak. The wine has a lengthy finish that I found cloyingly sweet. |

5/19/2018 - air guitar & pinot noir Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis was a pleasant surprise and pleasure. Lovely Sonoma fruit with persistent ripe cherry, strawberry delivered in a smooth and seamless way. A bit of forest floor and a hint of spice. This had a touch of heat but that quickly dissipated. A true bargain at the price point as it drinks favorably at a higher echelon. Paired lovely with salmon with spices and brown sugar and rubbed chicken wings from the smoker. Great mouthfeel. Nothing to find fault in here. |

9/1/2017 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRIn the mid range of fruit flavor with subtle savory notes and silky texture. Good value on a nicely done Sonoma Pinot Noir. It's on par with $50+ bottles if tasted blind in my opinion. I was intrigued enough to do a google search which informed me that the juice is from Sangiacomo vineyard in Carneros. https://www.cosaobra.com/wines/list/2014-pinot-noir |

7/4/2017 - kevkcho Likes this wine: 92 pointsQuite surprising, actually at its peak now. None of the grassiness of new world sauvignon blanc but very nice lemony nose and very pronounced white guava bouquet. Very balanced with great acidity, and very good minerals towards the finish. Surprisingly ageable, but time to drink up. Compared to my previous tasting, this time it is so much better, it actually improved immensely over a bit more than a year. |

11/12/2016 - Chemming Likes this wine: 86 pointsFrankly expected more at this price and age. Had always hoped this wine would open up, be more expressive and present a longer finish, as it felt there was promise, but it just never arrived, and I now skeptical that it ever will. It's not bad, just less than I'd hoped. A fine everyday wine that iremains quite tannic and heavy on wild berries, but light on sugar. |

3/31/2016 - kevkcho wrote: 83 pointsLimey nose but body is a bit fat and more chardonnay like than Sauvignon blanc like. Unbalanced and would love to have more acidity and freshness. Bitterness is a bit too apparent in its finish. |

8/22/2014 - Lizizwhereitiz Likes this wine: 89 pointsHusband wanted to give this above a 90, while I tended toward 85. Well-balanced--more on the earthy side but you can still smell and taste the black fruits. The nose has a hint of tobacco and spice. Medium finish. Definitely needs at least a 2 hour decant. Not as big or complex as I generally prefer, and it's a little higher in acidity than I like. Plus I can taste a bit too much of the alcohol. |

8/8/2014 - rama Likes this wine: 90 pointsPrimary at this age, dark fruits and some funk on the nose. Gobs of dark fruit, sweet, concentrated, with the characteristic peppery, saline syrah finish. Moderate chewy tannin. |

7/20/2014 - Dagalaifus Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis wine is aged in stainless steel and neutral oak. It is straw yellow in the glass with a redolent nose of citrus and melon. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and slightly effervescent with grapefruit, pineapple, melon and creamy oak. The wine has a lengthy finish with some residual sugar, but enough acidity to keep it from being cloying. The flavor profile is similar to the outstanding Eric Kent (Cuvee Rene) Sauvignon Blanc from the same vintage, which is not surprising when you consider that Kent Humphrey makes both the Eric Kent SB as well as this Cosa Obra. That having been said, I prefer the more tart finish of the Cosa Orba. |
