Superb rose. Fruit fading, but mature earthy notes starting to come through. I wish I had more of this to see how it would be in another year.

Likely beginning its decline. Still quite enjoyable with dew laden wild berries, fresh green herbs, and savory spiced florals. Wet slate and fading acidity hold onto the finish. Time to drink up!

This was a step below my other recent experiences, the fruit was dropping out and it was borderline oxidized... Hoping my one remaining bottle has held up better.

Goodbye to Izzy & Rachel (and Meyer!) (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): A bit of a letdown when I think of the heights this has reached in the past. Definitely had some banana yogurt tones on the nose...very tropical and creamy. The palate wasn't as exotic as the nose and kinda reminded me of mushy cranberries, and raspberries. The acidity was a bit flat...just disappointing.

Lovely pink colour. Fresh cut flowers and grass on the nose. Lovely, sweet, refreshing rose. Considerably better than the 2011.

Clos des Lambrays-Fifteen Vintages (2011 to 1919) at 2014 La Paulee; 3/13/2014-3/15/2014 (Various Locations, San Francisco): More typical Puligny flint and fruit not as over the top as in the Folatieres, but this is still loose and unimpressive today. A different and much poorer showing than the other day out of magnum.

Clos des Lambrays-Fifteen Vintages (2011 to 1919) at 2014 La Paulee; 3/13/2014-3/15/2014 (Various Locations, San Francisco): Magnum. Medium yellow. A blast of honey upfront. Rich, creamy, mouth filling and long. Golden Delicious apple, caramel, spice and lees-a very satisfying, complex array of flavors. Grand Cru texture and length with saving acidity arriving late, although I'd have to say the acidity is only average. Wonderful if you lean toward rich, broad white Burgundy with less precision. Fully mature and giving everything now.

Distinctly green notes to the point of being vegetal and more like Sauvignon than Chardonnay. Some soil aromatics. Nice weight, very focused but grainy feel, cool, green, aggressive flavors in the mouth. Improves somewhat and becomes more lemony, but I still find all of herbaceous/grassy elements overpowering.

Interesting lactic, leesy notes that were not present in the other 2 vintages. Restrained but really pretty. With air, this fleshed out and had the most development of the 3 vintages poured with real Puligny flintiness. Good acidity for the vintage. Excellent potential.

Holy land in Puligny. Lambrays and Chartron are the only holders. Minerality and dense fruit with Grand Cru structure.

Still going strong. Fresh and balanced aromas of dried wild raspberry, citrus rind, and potpourri. Focused and medium bodied on the palate, with layers of cool red berry fruit over saline and chalky minerals. The finish lingers with tart cranberry acidity, savory dried herbs, and violets. Quite delicious, and likely will continue to improve in the short term.

I really wanted to like this more than I did. Initially, I thought it was slight oxidized with a detergent note. That blew off to review lean and precise citrus and seawater notes. Nice, but not how I remembered it being at the Domaine.

Burgundy Dinner at John and Jen's (River North - Chicago, IL): A bit fat at first, it opened up and smoothed out a bit after an hour or so. The fruit was lush and exotic with melons, citrus, a subtle creaminess. The finish was mineral driven, with beautiful flint notes.

Keith's note nails what makes this such a striking, remarkable rosé; it's bright, delicate and refreshing as any good rosé should be, but the textural refinement and sense of polish here are something else. It's absolutely delicious to drink with gentle florality, fresh strawberry fruit and saline notes on the back end, and the elegance and texture here have me coming back after each sip.

Vivid and interesting nose of tart, cool red fruit, mint, spice, and savory herbs. Medium bodied and similar in profile on the palate with waves of red berries, morning dew, and chalky minerals. Fresh green herbs, and tart cranberry, and orange rind complicate the lengthy finish. Really superb rose, with a few years of cellar potential.

Fresh red berries and flowers, good acidity, fully dry. Fairly long finish with some stony minerality and something vaguely like raw snap pea coming out. Refreshing and delicious, with some complexity too.

After opening and pouring out two bottles last night, took this one to the restaurant. Not poxed, but a shadow of the two very good bottles I'd had in recent weeks (one mine, one someone elses bottle). Flat, uninspiring. So this six pack is one for five so far. Very frustrating, for a wine that can be terrific. Premox will break all our hearts in the end.
