BEVMO Tasting (BevMo, Walnut Creek, Ca.): Sweet, forward fruit on the nose, sweet/sour fruit in the mouth, too fruity and simple.

Dark, solid one dimensionally purple in colour. Earthy with notes of dark fruit but not berries. More tannic than many with balanced adity throughout its length. A good food wine better with more robust dishes.

Solid and quite earthy. I enjoyed this Pinot Noir. Less fruity, thankfully, than many with more of the traditional Pinot Noir qualities.

Much better than the 2008. Pours lighter with lots of red cherry and cola on the nose and palate. Very nice balance. It was wonderful before and with the baked salmon.

Lovely nose, apricot, peach, floral, and mineral.

Smooth and full mouth feel.

Palate, kumquat, honeysuckle, orange rind. Those discriptors make the wine sound sweeter than it is. The wine is off-dry.

Overall, a fragrant and interesting wine. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Much more interesting than generic Mendocino bottling which we had on the same evening. Interesting fruit with lingering finish.

14.5% % ABV. Light gold in the glass. Peach and apricots mostly on the nose with a hint of mineral, spice, and a touch of honeysuckle(?). Medium bodied with clean apricot fruit on the palate and just a kiss of sweetness. Digging this.

As a fan of Greg's entry level pinot, I was looking forward to drinking this ... and was a little disappointed. The wine was better with food than by itself prior to the garlic grilled prawns. Maybe it was too 'burgundian' for us ... we like a little more grape flavor ... it seemed a little 'flat' to me ... not a very 'focused' wine at all.

Love viognier, generally. Have started to love Lake County and the wines. Lovely honey and apricot flavors, with just a touch of oak.

Good, but not like I remember it at the vineyard. If you are looking for a white wine, stick with the Chardonnay, it's outstanding.

Very floral wine that wants to convince you it's off dry. Very food friendly; almost overpowering on its own. An outstanding deal from the winemaker at the much spendier Rombauer Cellars. Definitely my best wine buy this year. The screwtop is practical for a "drink soon" white, but takes some getting used to.
