I agree with the first reviewer. Initial impression from the first bottle: Really very nice. Probably should have purchased more when it was available.

This was not my wine. The wine was a BD gift to a family member.

If I had paid what the internet suggests is the going price for this bottle, I would be very disappointed. The prices online run in the $80 - $90 a bottle. Had I tasted this blind, I would have assumed it was a $20 - $30 bottle from a bog box retailer. It was just really non-descript. There was nothing that stood out about the wine except it ordinariness.

Glad I did not pay for it. Would not seek it out.

Not quite as good as the 2018 vintage at this stage. Still a good bottle of wine at the $55/btl price I found. Definitely more in the Bourdeaux style vs being a rich Napa cab.

I really like Melka wines. Nice harmony between the dark fruit, acidity and balanced tannins. Not over the top or jammy. Just a really pleasant and subtly nuanced wine. Great QPR.

Had 3 bottles at dinner w Dan Ray. Really enjoyed but slightly lighter and not as full bodied as expected and as I remembers from previous bottles.

Drinking way young. I would have guessed 2018 or 19 on the nose and in the mouth. Drank it over three hours...if drinking it now, I would decant it for at least three hours. I won't touch my other bottles for five years (minimum). This is fantastic juice...but needs more time in the bottle.

Napa Cab with a healthy does of Franc and a splash of Merlot? Lots of new oak? A few good years in the bottle?

Yeah, I like it. Surprised? All the things are lined up as they should be for this. Drink now or hold 3-4 more years.

Not great for the price. Some black fruit and oak. Very dry and tannins still off balanced. I expected a bit more from this wine so a bit disappointing.

Beautiful deep purple
Nose of Musty tree bark, blackberries, earth.
Blueberries, blackberries, chocolate, and coffee on the palate
High acidity and strong tannins

Very nice, smooth wine, hit of the evening. Everyone loved it ,even my wife, who doesn't usually like Cabernet Sauvignon.

Been waiting on this vintage and was a bit disappointed when I finally popped the cork. It certainly was a respectable cab, but not at the price point.

Medium lemon color. The aromas are so spritely (with white flowers, celery seed, saline) along with deeper honey tones, over apples, papaya, and lime. The palate is really racy but the mouthfeel shows this nice, creamy depth as well. White peach, papaya, yellow apples, drizzled with the lime, the fruit meets the chalky, floral, basil and white pepper elements, and it finishes with minerals and slate. The combination of pure, delicious fruit with this brisk appeal and the textural depth – it just hits the spot. Fantastic Napa Sauv Blanc. Aged eight months in 77% concrete eggs and 23% French oak.

Deep purple color. Deep and dark aromas of blackberry and currants, with lots of pepper, tobacco and anise, notes if incense, coffee, stony, rocky elements - a lot going on here and air coaxes out all sorts of nuances. The acidity is really lively and crisp, deep tannins with solid grip, supporting the core of tart currant and blackberry fruit. The earth, black tea, violets, coconut shavings and dark chocolate add a lot to enjoy and ponder. Delightful stuff, balanced well, really has aging potential too.

Stunning. In a great drinking window. I had the 2013 about six weeks ago and I would rate the 2013 a 96. Will drink them side by side soon. Still life left, but in a fantastic place right now.

Light yellow color. A rich, inviting nose of papaya, iwi and mango, tossed with honey, white pepper, ramp leaves and chalk dust. The palate shows a pleasantly creamy texture with racy acidity and rushing mineral presences. The lime and papaya fruit is glazed with honey, white pepper and a tantalizing mix of chalk dust, saline and limestone. From the family’s Lovall Valley site, this is a special and unique Napa Sauv Blanc. Aged 16 months in 60% new French oak.

A blend of cabernet (90%) and petit verdot, this shows black currant, blackberry, plum, oak, spice, and vanilla on the nose, and chocolate covered cherries, blackberries, oak, plum, and coffee on the palate, rich, fruit driven, complex and elegant, with a long, elegant finish, showing savory acidity; full bodied, ripe, rich, beautiful fruit flavors create a wine of both power and finesse, balanced.

Pale lemon color. Aromas of limes, papaya, topped in honeysuckle, daisies, wild mint and fresh basil – really vibrant and bright. Crisp and delightful texture, with limes, peach and papaya fruit on the palate. Complex notes of salt, chalk dust, ocean spray, with bright floral and white tea tones. Deep but lively, focused but lots of complexity, and a racy, mineral-laden finish. All Sauvignon Blanc Aged sur lie in a mix of concrete eggs and French oak

Rich yellow color. Gorgeous aromas of pineapple, mango, peach and lime mixing with honey, new tennis balls, chalky-minty tones. Plush and creamy texture on the palate with lively acidity, creamy and balanced but constantly alive. Pineapple, guava, drizzled with lime, the fruit matches with tones of honeycomb, white flowers, minerals, talc, lemon verbena. Beautifully expressive and pretty, no obtrusive elements here, every is fresh, balanced, complex and delicious. Aged 17 months in a mix of French oak (60% new) and concrete eggs.

Deep purple color. Lush and inviting aromas, with deep plums, blackberry and cassis, along with all manner of paved road, pencil lead, coffee, anise and pipe tobacco notes. Fresh acidity is really nice on the palate, structured tannins, serious concentration and grip. Blackberry and deep plum fruit, rich but tart, with complex earthy tones underneath. Elements of violets, black tea, dark chocolate, anise cookie and coffee tones. Wow, this is delightful already but will really start opening up in the next few years and age for quite some time. Aged 18 months in 2/3 new French oak.

Deep purple color. Aromas of juicy blackberries, blueberries, with tar, anise, roasted coffee and cedar, classic, deep, inviting Napa goodness. Full and suave on the palate with velvety tannins and fresh acidity, finely balanced. Ripe blackberry and smoky blueberry with plummy, sauce tones, backed up by complex graphite, mineral, charcoal and tobacco. Boastful but nuanced and fresh, too. Delicious, exciting stuff. Cabernet Sauvignon with 10% Petit Verdot.

Medium yellow color. Rich aromas of honeydew, pineapple and yellow apple with honeyed, floral tones but also these vibrant tones of hay, chalk and mint. Plush texture on the palate, vibrant acid, with flavors of white peach, pineapple and lemon tart fruit. Notes of chalk, minerals, tomato leaf and sea salt add complexity. Nuanced, plump but fresh, this Sauvignon Blanc has lovely clarity and focus to it.
