4/12/2024 - jsjones Does not like this wine: 60 pointsUgh. Bitter and sour notes. There is red fruit but there seems to be something wrong. Has long aftertaste of anise. Not my cup of tea (or glass of wine). Maybe it’s a bad bottle. I had bought 2 so will give the other a try and let y’all know. |

3/14/2024 - ehaav Likes this wine: 91 pointsBlack cherry, stewed plum, nutmeg, anise, kiss of clove, cola, wet leaves. Definitely on the darker side of pinot, more dark fruit versus red fruit, and big French oak influence. White the oak influence is high, it is very well integrated, it plays with the fruit very nicely. Balance is very good, my only acid head nick pick would be I wish it had a bit more freshness to help it feel more alive. Tannins are very velvety and smooth, with just a kiss of grip left on the finish. Very fleshy texture, with pretty hefty weight to back it up. Medium length, very much so carried by the spices. I wouldn't call this a complex wine, but it hits all the notes for what you would want out of a richer pinot. Lower acidity and soft tannins would have me drinking more of this sooner rather than later. |

3/10/2024 - Mike Kopanski wrote: 88 pointsPleasantly surprised. Was expecting a diluted, nondescript Central Coast Pinot. This one is precise, defined and basically correct. The color is dark for a Pinot. No doubt about the Pinot nose with dark cherry and some musty dirt. The fruit is a bit ripe, kind of candied. A touch of oak. Maybe a touch light on the viscosity. But, a credible if not incredible, mouth coating fruity Pinot that didn’t cost much. ripe black cherry finish. |

3/1/2024 - graemeg wrote: NRWinery Visit: Centennial & Cherry Tree Hill (Southern Highlands, NS): {screwcap, A$33} Another wine with a dirty nose – I was beginning to wonder about the glass, which I was rinsing between wines. Oaky and toasty nose, but not buttery. Medium weight palate tastes a bit sweaty. Cool climate grapefruit flavours, with a tropical twist, medium acid, even palate, but rather short finish. |

2/28/2024 - The Drunken Cyclist Likes this wine: NRRetail $18. Heavy Bottle (607g; 1lb 5.4oz). I first tasted this wine about eighteen months ago for my Fifth Annual Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir, and it was very good. Then I tried it again roughly a year ago. Very good again. This time around? Yeah, you guessed it: solid, consistent, fun quaff. Original notes still apply. 89 Points. |

2/4/2024 - Wild Bones Likes this wine: 92 pointsDried blackberry, cured meat, and dried floral/herb nose turns to all the olives black, green, brown, then it settles back into black juicy fruit and mellow, roasted red meat. Palette is loud purple fruit with a black edge, olive brine and iodine, long lasting high acid with well formed, fine tannin on the teeth. Very long metallic (in a good way haha) finish with sharp blackberry & dried herb falling away first. |

2/2/2024 - wino from way back Likes this wine: NROK, this may get me kicked off Cellar Tracker - Liking a wine bottled in Temecula California !?! Actually the grapes are from Santa Lucia Highlands (central coast), which makes a huge improvement over the local grapes. Found this wine in my cellar. Must have been a dinner party gift. decided to give it a try. I found it went will with a meal of home-made pizza. Taste of cherries, raspberry, red apple, even a bit of lemon, but not as acidic as many Pinot Noirs. Smooth mouthfeel. Nose was the best part. Though I have trouble distinguishing smells, it was fruity, a bit earthy / musty. Color was also darker than many pinots I've had lately. Very nice. I would give it 91 points, but need to chew on it a bit more before i decide. |

1/18/2024 - DrHadeen Likes this wine: 95 pointsRecently reorganized the cellar and am beginning to drink based on the drinkability report. This wine was decanted and left to open for about 30 minutes. Surprisingly smooth and paired perfectly with the Italian stuffed artichokes. The color was clear, the aroma was appropriate for a Pinot Noir and quite enjoyable. |

12/30/2023 - The Drunken Cyclist Likes this wine: 93 pointsRetail $70. Heavy Bottle. Well, sadly, this is the last bottle (no, not *that* Last Bottle Wines) that I received from Cordant to try and this falls in line with all of the others: Outstanding. Medium to dark in color with rich cherry and boysenberry fruit on the nose as well as vanilla, eucalyptus (which I always associate with Central Coast Pinot), subtle oak (30% new), and also a hint of spice. The palate, as I might have expected given the nose and previous bottles from the producer, is rich, fruity, layered, and fantastic. While the website touts the Solomon Hills Pinot as the "lightest in style", this beauty is not far adrift and it is in a wonderful place now with integrated tannins and wonderful balance. Outstanding. 93 Points. |
