pnp - light and bright, fine typicity, orchard fruit and citrus, nuanced bouquet, med bodied, linear and correct, fine length, bit tight and angular as yet, if it rounds out upside, 10+ years. At least F (17.5).

In a very good spot. Big and bold fruit flavors in a delicious dense style. Clearly guessed Chardonnay blind and while some bigger oak flavors noted, very enjoyable with no signs of oxidation.

Final bottle, still going strong. An exotic experience. There are plenty of new world producers still making Chardonnay in this fuller style - this would outperform most if not all of them.

Scents of tangerine and marzipan, balanced, classy, sharp acidity, the palate shows lemon sorbet, green apple, marigold, and lime zest, holds a good amount of energy, long finish, gets better with air, will hold up well but drinking nicely now

Great expression of Chardonnay. Just a touch of oak, lots of fruit, great with food or would work on its own. And probably only getting better.

Finished this btl over a month with a Coravin. Truly a fantastic wine as all Leeuwin Art Series chards are and yes, I have a bias for this producer. Incredible youthful color, great bright acidity and great fruit. On the palate so tasty. Rivals a great white burg at the fraction of the cost. +10 years of ageability. Love the screwtop.

Complex. Citrus, saline and floral-at first. Stone fruit and even a touch of toffee as it warms. Got better with time in glass and as it approached room temperature. First bottle of the 2016 that we have opened. No rush on the rest.

Fragrant, flowery. More burgundy im the mouth. Showed well against top 1er Cru Chassagne and Meursault tonite.

PNP with a Coravin. Really clean color, grassy look. Tasty on the palate and a good finish. Expected a lot more but really enjoyed this glass.

Began with pith, clearly lime, potentially grapefruit. Softens a touch soon thereafter, into tropical fruit and shredded coconut. One of the more Sauvignon Blanc-esque chardonnays I’ve ever had the pleasure to taste.

Very fine and elegant next to the Lias from Labet, but great stuff nonetheless (although compared to the labet a worse qpr)

This is a beautiful wine, more of an American style Chardonnay than French. I opened a bottle, poured a small glass and all I have to say, the finish was over one minute long..

At home. Very similar impression to recent notes, perhaps somewhat more fresh. As always a delicious expression of Chardonnay.

At South West Rocks, NSW. A lovely picnic wine this opened with a deep green gold colour and a nose of white and yellow peaches, poached pears, lemon zest, vanilla and honey. The palate has developed a lovely complexity with the complex fruit characters still at the forefront but balanced by touches of caramel, honey and vanilla pod. The texture and mineral grip remain defining features here giving the wine real distinction.

Everyone was working late so we decided to go out for sushi. Opened and poured - white flowers, pear and hints of orchard fruit on the nose. The palate was pear, cactus, hints of citrus and a touch of ginger which came out in the finish. A really nice wine.

Pale lemon colour still with flecks of green.
The nose showed stonefruit, fresh lemon and lots of vanilla at first with cinnamon and hazelnut emerging after a few minutes. Palate matches the nose, though is more citric with a little bitter grapefruit pith.
Real mineral zing here. I wasn't tasting any butteryness but thought there would have been some malo in a Marg River flagship, but apparently not!
No rush here at all, could wait 5yrs to try the next bottle but I'll probably have one sooner than that 😄

Mixed Bag at Irene's (Irene's House, St. Paul): Light medium gold color. Drank a glass over 3 hours. This was a really odd showing for this tonight. IT started out with fusil, wax, stone and subtle lemon, linear, tart a touch of stone fruit, and the impression that the train had left the station. Then oddly 3 hours later, it had rounded the bend and was heading for home. Really swampy and earthy now, brine, dried apple, stones, sour lemon, no fusil, and nice length. Well, interesting, but I'm not so sure i would hang on to these though. Ultimately, 91pts.

Highly reflective light gold color, very pretty. Mineral lime zest on the nose. Powerful and penetrating acids with lime zest notes as well as powerful minerality and a mild underlying sweetness that balances nicely with the acidity. Very tasty.

Vegetable or green notes. seems austere and closed. Not much tropical fruit that I tasted in 2018 vintage.

Terroir-istes International - Australia-Margaret River Chardonnay (Overgaauw Wine Estate): (Tasted Blind): A fresh mineral aroma with a touch of SO2. Then stone fruits, green apples and crushed nuts. Bright, tight and acidic on entry, this is still remarkably youthful. Plenty of character, and the wine has a lovely gait and fabulous mineral precision with a well-defined chiselled texture. Flavours of apple, chopped stone, and it feels at times like you are sucking on a lemon! This is an excellent wine with a long finish with lip-smacking intensity, although some felt it lacked depth and was a little generous. Elegant too!

Terroir-istes International - Australia-Margaret River Chardonnay (Overgaauw Wine Estate): (Tasted Blind): Some development with mint, pineapple, spice and caramel. Still vibrant with a lively acidity, it is holding up, yet the caramel does start to infiltrate the wine, becoming like a humbug candy. However, a perfume scent also permeates it, and the acid structure seems to be holding even if it should have been drunk by now. Definitely offering more than expected.
