really liked this, was a bit surprised as i am not a big cotton charlemagne fan but this wine was high acid with great tension and felt like the palate profile was more Puligny Montrachet citrus than Corton Charlie smoke / caramel / richer / toasty

Second bottle is bright, has apple and mineral nose. This is about structure and freshness. The fruit is fresh but not fleshy. Long mineral finish.

Solid, but outclassed in a line up with Coche and Boillot.

Had this up against the Coche and Boillot. This was the least favorite but all had a similar profile flavors. This just didn't have the same structure as the Coche.

Terrific nose of apple and toasty oak. Steely, stony, apple. This is tight, yet and long. Has a future! Close to the Pernand Vergelesses side.

Flickinger "Significant Cellar" Tasting...the New Releases (Chicago, IL): Lean styled aromas, lots of orchard fruit with spice hints. Lean and precise apple flavors, plenty of acidity, moderate nuance and length.

Brought to a dinner and didn't take detailed notes. General impressions were of a balanced, elegant wine drifting more towards tropical flavors with some citrus. Not a showy wow wine but still very nice.

It had been so long since I had opened a bottle of Corton-Charlemagne that I had forgotten how good it is. This was a stunning wine: beautiful color, light nose and a luscious mouthfeel. A plethora of citrus flavors, highlighted by just a touch of oak and a little butter on the finish. This wine developed so nicely as the night went along, gaining weight and complexity. I prefer a bit more aggressiveness than this wine showed, but it was still classy, elegant and ever so tasty. Paired very nicely with a Trout Roulade at Browntrout in Chicago. I could be wrong, but this doesn't strike me as a wine for long cellaring; I think it's at its peak now, although it will last for several years. Modestly priced for a wine of this quality. Often when I splurge on a special occasion wine, I'm disappointed. This time I was a very happy camper indeed.

To young to drink, lemon oil, crisp, white fruits. Closed down. Some glycerin and ripeness emerging, but needs time

Enjoyed this wine with two friends from Thailand. Light to medium yellow. Lemon, pineapple and mineral nose. This has sweet, round fruit and modest oak but currently the racy mineral/acid structure dominates. This wine has a teriffic future. Surprisingly, it was NOT a great match for raw oysters.

DoktaP, JoeG and Basecadet Visit KW (Dave's House): Popped and poured. Subdued nose of lemon zest and crushed rocks. Mirrored on the palate, with beautiful weight and texture. Nice long finish, ending with a hint of bitterness. Mouth watering acidity was an excellent compliment to the corresponding scallop dish. This was not very expressive at the moment, which was unfortunate, because it seems like everything is there.

Notes of butter, lemon peel, minerals....really quite tight. Than palate showed similar flavours and the finish had really good length but this just seems really closed and not expressive at all.....give at least 3 years until next bottle

Lemon lime, chalky limestone, white pepper, smoky butter and pears on the nose. Young and tight with pronounced minerality on the attack. Nice structure but just a hint of a hole in the mid palate that leads to a long sweet finish with lots of spicy pear fruit. Very good now, perhaps that mid-palate hole will disappear with some more time?

This the second bottle of the 2005 I have had of this beautiful Chardonnay. The nose had hints of apple, vanilla, toast. This was beautifully textured and concentrated with a long finish. I will be puchasing more.

Very much enjoyed, even though it was a bit young. Love that the oak was tame and really let the fruit shine through. Took to Corton for dinner.
