The 2006 exceeds even the high expectations we had, blew away the very good 2012, and is a strong candidate for the best wine made Oliverhill in the last 15 years. Black colored liquid silk. Deep, complex, and delicious fruit accented by smoked meat. Perfectly integrated tannin, acidity, and French oak. By far the tastiest food match of 8 wines sipped with a dinner featuring oxtail soup and grape leaves stuffed with ground lamb. |

Magnificent with food. Sadly and incomprehensively, when this winery was sold to new owners, they soon stopped making this special Jimmy Section from the best part of the estate vineyard, though the Jimmy Section seems to be belatedly resumed with the 2012 vintage. |
