Beautiful deep golden colour. Lots of different flavours - kiwi, floral notes and oak. Flavour lasts as the wine coats the mouth - great finish.

Light-Bright straw coloring; citrus on the nose (apricot, lemon zest). Light butter coating of the palate with crushed stone. I suspect at the end of its window, but a steal for $5 from a bargain bin!

Was hoping these Pahlmeyer's would have held up better, but its the second bottle in a few months, and showing its age. Not bad, just nothing not worthy, would suggest drinking soon, these have started their slide down the back side.

Some fruit but mostly oak and Some sweet creamy sensations. Drinking well now but not overly complex. Would recommend consuming within the next five years.

Nose of lemon curd, citrus flowers, and toast. On the palate, rich with meyer lemon, toffee, and obvious spicy oak. Finish has plenty of acidity but the oak treatment overwhelms everything. Hold for a couple years and hope that the oak integrates.

At 14.9% abv, this monster is popped and pours a beautifully saturated golden color with very long legs. On the nose, the strong alcohol brings forth a rich and full scent of oak and honey. This is supported by a bevy of oats, candied lemon peel, rosewater, Grand Marnier and toasted almonds. On the palate, the wine displays a wonderful structure - potent but not cloying at all. The heat from the alcohol definitely wrestles itself to be acknowledged as soon as it hits the tongue. With it are flavors of marzipan, lemon curd, honeyed nuts, oak and candied roses. Acidity is kept at a low here; but despite that, there is a freshness and minerality to the chardonnay that keeps it lively. Although the finish is of medium length, the wine is very concentrated in both scent and taste. Critics may carp about the lack of complexity in the wine. But to me, this is great juice that shows meticulous extraction and strikes a very good balance between a Cali chard and a white Burgundy.

Pahlmeyer Tasting with Kurt from Maverick (Senor Pan - Chicago): Atlas Peak. Waters Ranch, Ritchie, and Wayfarer Vineyards.
Richer, toasty. Caramel corn - a little less aromatic. Honey, golden apples, New World styling with some fleshy sweet corn.
Palate still sports nice acidity but richer overall. I sense the twelve months in new oak.

napa and sonoma coast fruit. much more keyed up fruit nose. just not the fleshy aroma of the Wayfarer. more linear aromas. more spice on the palate with out the flesh getting in the way. A little ashy. doesn't get tropical.

Excellent QPR at $25 from auction. Leans more to mango and peach than other Pahlmeyers. Nice acidity and balance with just the right amount of toasted oak. Best paired with less delicate dishes.

Bright straw, chartreuse edge. Tropical fruit, toasted coconut, and white flower aromas. The crisp and juicy, full-bodied palate toggles between New and Old World. Has a buttery texture, mineral undertow, clementine orange back note, and lemon zest on the warm finish. Hit a nice stride at the one-hour mark, gaining toasty complexity the longer it sat in the glass.

Pure, refined and crisp...this unoaked Chardonnay has many characteristics of a Sauvignon Blanc but with more weight and character. Some hints of lychee and golden delicious apple with a surprisingly long finish. Nice acidity that is balanced.

Pear and a touch of vanilla, crisp balanced not to acidic, great alone or with food.
That's what un-oaked chard is supposed to taste like...

This wine was singing nicely; as 2011 seemed to be dissed by most, I find that most of the really good wineries made excellent wines, even though they was less of it. This is a great example As good as any Jayson Chardonnay i have had. Nice balance of fruit; an oak influence in check and the appropriate acid balance.

Nice balance, softness to the tropical fruits. Could be the age or the style, but found this to not be an over Oakes, overly buttery Chardonnay. Quite nice.

Every once in a while, you check out a wine shop and you find something interesting that you just have to try. A $32 bottle of 2005 Jayson Chardonnay in a wine shop on Front Street in Hamilton, Bermuda? Where did it come from, how was it stored? Although the wines are numbered with inventory kept in the basement, this is the last bottle so you get the one on the shelf. Rather than be the obnoxious wine geek and ask a lot of questions, I decided that the color looked fine so I bought it.

I have never had Pahlmeyer Chardonnay, but this bottle was outstanding. Any oak that might have once been there, as is common in young Pahlmeyer reds, is gone. No buttered popcorn. Depth of flavor fills the palate. It's got some meatyness to it, my wife suggested it was a bit smoky, in a good way. Fruit was not over-abundant and was essentially chadonnay grape with a bit of apple. Long finish.

- Yellow color and aromas of oak and orange blossom. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of oak, butterscotch and pineapple with a medium/full body. Fleshy texture with a medium finish - Had with grilled turkey burgers. Delicious wine. Would have been a good idea to save for six months and have in the winter as it is rather full bodied. Not for a hot summer day IMO.

Tropical, brassy, heavy bodied - slightly metallic finish. Hit a sweet spot after an hour or so, and then closed up a bit again. Well made, but not my flavor profile.
