Had at dinner with others - a bit non-descript compared to the William Selyem Pinot we had following. It was OK but I was unable to pay enough attentions to determermine if it was an 88 or 89. I gave it the benfit of the doubt.

No formal TN.
Did quite well in a lineup of PNs at a tasting event.
Came across a bit lighter and less complex than my previous tasting of this wine.

Très bon, toutefois pas assez pour justifier le prix.

Such young, bright dark red fruit on the nose with wonderful floral notes as well. Very carressing on the palate, with flavors of berries, stone fruit, and subtle earthy notes. Good midpalate length and a lingering finish. The tannins are quite soft, and the acid is appropriate. Not particulary complex, but a real pleasure to drink. A very pretty wine. This may improve with a little more bottle age, but this is really drinking quite well now.

A pleasant surprise. A friendly dark red cherry nose marked by slate and earth followed by streamlined red and black berries, red plum with its pit, and crushed rock. Not particularly complex but this is quite nice. Not particulary Volnay, but certainly this is from Beaune. Good length, finishes dry and succinct. I did enjoy this. This is drinking very well now.

musedir Does Dallas! (Citrus Bistro, Dallas, TX): WIML90

Tasted non blind at a wine dinner. Opened about an hour before serving.

Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of light notes of potpourri, rubber and earth. Flavors of cherries, berries and raspberries. Bright to tart acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink with a good decant or continue to hold.

Decanted for an hour, enjoyed half the bottle with Christmas dinner, poured the rest into an empty 375 to drink tomorrow...
Clear in appearance, with a medium ruby color, fading to a pale ruby/tawny rim. Gorgeous.
The nose is certainly in a developing stage, offering up med intensity aromas of tart, bright red cherry and raspberry fruit, with notes of moist soil, a bit of barnyard funk in the background, and a gentle sweet spice, perhaps cinnamon.
In the mouth, the wine is of course dry, with med alcohol (12.5% abv), med body, and med intensity flavors echoed from the palate: sour cherry and raspberry, followed by savory notes reminiscent of mushroom, as well as cola and an earthy minerality. These complex and layered flavors are supported by a perfectly balanced med level of firm and persistent tannins, med(+) level of acidity, leading into a med/med(+) length finish of bright red fruits and earth.
This wine is of high quality, and is just entering into it's drinking window. It should continue to improve with bottle age, and drink very well for the next 10 or so years. Marvelous...

A bit of a disappointing wine. Not enough of fruit and no balance. It is a bit all over the place.

Grands Jours de Bourgogne - Meursault and Volnay (Tonnellerie Damy - Meursault): Tasting. Big and lush red and black cherry aromas. Fruit-driven start with leaner character from middle to finish providing a very elegant style.

Something must be off with this. The nose is stone fruit with no mid palette and an earthy screwy tannic finish.

The first vintage as a Domaine bottling. Good finesse and detail on the nose with red fruits, flowers and freshly tilled soil. It is lacy and layered in the mouth and there’s plenty of underlying structure for long aging. A lovely wine.

Beautiful wine -- shame it's my last bottle. Dark crimson in the glass. Cool stone fruits on the nose. Lots of red and blue fruits on the palate with buckets of rocks and minerality. Sappy -- great midpalate. Would have guessed 2001, not 2004.

Burgs 02, 03 and 05: Ruby in color. The nose has some cherries and some alcohol. On the palate, there is a complexity here, but the wine is light bodied and slightly flabby. Decent wine, but not in the class of the other wines offered. Just seems lacking.
