Fantastisk vin med et la t liv foran seg. Dekantert tre timer, drukket over 4. Utvikler seg hele veien. Venter et par år med neste flaske, selv om det blir vanskelig!

Drack fyra olika Nebbioloviner alla från 2004. Det var Gaja Costa Russi, Giacomo Conterno Barolo Cascina Francia, Roberto Voerzio Barolo La Serra och Paolo Scavino Barolo Riserva Rocche dell'Annunziata.
Voerzios La Serra har en fin underbar typisk Barolodoft med körsbär, apelsinskal, lakrits, aceton och en fin blommighet. I smaken är där också otroligt mycket körsbär, lakrits, apelsin och ett ordentligt bett i tanninerna. Ett väldigt bra vin men på tok för ungt. Nästa flaska sparar jag minst 5 år ytterligare.

Great in every way. Nose of ripe raspberries, blackberries, and tradition tar, roses and minerals. The palate is focussed, bright; as intense as the flavour is the wine is light on it feet. The tannins are super fine and ripe and totally in balance with the fruit. Long finish. As enjoyable as it is now I think it will keep getting better for many years. (94)

Actually the last tasting of 2013: Where some wines are mouth filling, this was definitely nose filling - incredibly perfumed, raspberry, cinnamon, char and oak with some tar as well. Long, with the tannins present but enveloped by the youthful red fruits. Lovely, lovely wine.

Granato piuttosto cupo. Al naso goudron, pepe nero, rosa, scorza di arancio, note ematiche, anice, menta, incenso. Bocca coerente, sapida, golosa. Lunghissima la persistenza.

Took to a group tasting last night and it's fair to say I was much more impressed with this wine than others. My tasting notes closely match my prior bottle, but the others tasters felt the wine was still highly tannic and disapprovingly "modern." I still like the damn stuff a lot, but the decanter still had a fair bit left in it at the end of the evening (to be fair, so did just about every other decanter/bottle)...

I get the cooler impression yet they are almost identical. Dry red fruits, rose, tar and flowers. Quite precise palate impression, silky and nicely integrated tannins. Lovely.

Lovely dense palate, medium concentration, dry sweet fruit palate and sweet tannins. This particular bottle is surprisingly open. Lovely.

Beautiful wine. Starting to show some bricking and hints of brown. Dark fruit nose of prune/fig, caramel and maybe cedar. Silky mouthfeel, with great focus and tremendous length. Palate similar to the nose, with classic Barolo flavors with great complexity and balance. Seems on a pretty quick evolutionary path -- I'd have guessed it was older, so I'd say drink up!

Darker core with orange copper rim; classic sandalwood, rose, cherry, and menthol; grainy tannin though this is soft and elegant, sour cherry, and a bit of iron; classic Nebbiolo; very delicious but a little one dimensional.

Had at The Herbfarm in Seattle.
Decanted 2 hours, but really started to shine after 4.5 hours. Tasted over 5 hours with dinner.
Color: Garnet with faint bricking at rim.
Nose: Cherry, strawberry, tar, roses and touch of soy sauce.
Palate: Bright cherry and strawberry, very floral, tons of roses. No mushroom or tea yet. Massive acidity, very fine, tight grained tannin.
Overall: Still in its youth, an incredible wine with plenty of years ahead. Classic Barolo in every way. 96 pts. non blind.

A fabulously enjoyable bottle of Barolo, as satisfying and sensual as driving a topless Italian sports car through the Apennines on a Sunday morning. It is rough and rorty with some brawny tannins on entry, which are better integrated than two years ago. Beneath this flamboyant exterior lurks a superb, wonderfully complex wine with dark fruit and balsamico, which transmogrifies chameleon-like to show off other nuances of bonfire, briary and gardenia.

Stunning nose. A wonderfully lush barolo oozing with tart red fruit amd charcoal. I felt a very slight bit of heat which was surprising. Seems to be entering it's prime years with many great ones ahead.
