Dense dark visuals and oaky nose, with a somewhat "barrique italiano" feel to it. Black cherries, dark plum, lots of wood and a hint of gravel. Don't really find the foremost bordeaux markers: cassis, lead pencil and so on. Better on the palate, which is dry and coarsely tannic with moderate fruit. Works quite well as companion to a rustic hamburger, less tempting to drink on its own. Still youthful, should improve for another five.

Very nice entry level Bordeaux and in a good place right now. Got interesting about 2 hours after opening. Reserved cherry fruit, chalky tannins, medium length finish. Wonderful food wine.

Ruby red. Almost no sediments. The wine was bottled in Norway by the wine monopoly, and they used to treat the wines rather roughly in order to avoid sediments. Farmyard and tobacco on the nose, very nice indeed. In the mouth, however, it is tart, thin and astringent. There are plenty of tannins, and I guess the wine could last for many years, but without improvement.

Väldigt tunn och sluten. Svag touch av korkskada. Kan därför inte bli något riktigt relevant betyg

Oddly enough, I had this bottle at Bern's tonight too.

Labeled as imported by Bern's themselves at some point. Same as markandsusanw, cork pretty much disintegrated when opened.

Will agree with them too on the TNs. Still had fruit, but definitely taking on secondary flavors; saddle leather makes an appearance for me. As noted previously, this was very smoothed out by the age, but still seemed to have plenty of tannic backbone left. Pretty sure this could go a few more decades, but my guess is that part of the reason for that is storage in Bern's cellar, which is colder than 55 from what I understand.

Very enjoyable bottle.

Consumed at Bern's 2013 (approx. $225 off the list) ... Cork crumbled upon opening, but nose remained bright and fruity. Deep purple pour, with a lot of fruit to open. Tasted extremely fresh for something so aged. Clearly, perfectly preserved. Lush, rich and utterly smooth. Backbone and structure still present.

This is good, but rather generic Haut Medoc. Simple drinking casual food wine. Nothing bad but nothing that would make anyone take notice. Has held up rather well under the circumstances.

A tad disappointing. Nose is classic Bordeaux with lead pencil, stable and cassis. Taste is also classic Bordeaux, but with raw tannins, and I feel the fruit does not quite stand up to it. Definetly weak in the centre, although the end is ok fruitwise, but still, the tannin dominates this wine. Was expecting more from this vintage.

This wine has just come into its own! Cedar, tar, tobacco, anise, earth, deep fruit, it just goes on and on. I am laying down my last bottle for at least another 5 years. One of the best we've opened this year.

I have been down on wines from this producer, because all I taste is wood. Day 1 - tasted some dry fruit along with sage and mushroom flavors. Day 2 - Lead pencil and graphite came through, and the wine was quite smooth. It is a great Monday or Tuesday night wine. I would even buy other vintages in the future.

Pulled this off the shelf at franprix and was very surprised with the freshness and depth of this inexpensive bordeaux. Classic profile for 02, silky tannins with clean red and black fruits, earthy minerals and cedar notes and delineated finish-very nice surprise for taking a chance at the supermarket on a 10 y/o BDX cru.

Nice lunchtime claret, easy, undemanding. Typical Medoc, no noticeable 2003 "heat" but tannins have softened, drink now, don't keep..

Typical bordeauxwine that is close to it´s peak. Not a significant nose but great earthy tones and a hint of fruitiness. Will peak within a year. Great value here in Sweden.

Hiro’s: Good straight classic bordeaux, right bank wine; excelent pencil lead, sous bois, cassis in fair doses; not too heavy, good integration and very drinkable now; good bal. not stellar, but a good simple bordeaux; med. silky mth, everything there. I like. Little bit o cherry, pretty acidic 2nd night; whiff of spice and bright black frt; lower bod.

After 4 hours in decanter it was really showing well, dusty, smoky fruit, well rounded and a lasting finish make for a rewarding experience, really good quality-price ratio. Will wait a couple of years for the other one though.

The Wine is over the hill, light fruity and earthy nose.
Pretty thin with light red berrys and a lot of earth with a short to medium finish.
Color starts bricking.
