Pretty intense for a rose! This could pass for pinot noir in color. Wonderful nose of syrah fruit and packs plenty of flavors. Great chilled for the summertime when you are not in the mood for a heavier red and tired of white. (50 views)

A most interesting white. Almost equal parts viognier, marsanne and rousanne from Sara Lee's Vineyard in the Russion River Valley. None of the varietals dominate. We have had this with a salad that included roasted Pluots and we served it with light pizzas and then with a stone fruit compote on ice cream (in fact splashed on a frozen dessert works well too). You get a little orange and pear adn stone fruit. It's medium in weight, with a smooth texture and a long finish. (58 views)

Dark, inky color. Big, purply nose with sweet blackberry notes. Loads of fruit and hint of pepper on the palate followed by vanilla/oak. Maybe it was the age, but this bottle had a too sweet, syrupy finish. Like the Hilltop Syrah better. (85 views)

This was a wine my wife and I had just brought back from our Sonoma vacation trip and were very excited that everyone liked it so much. It was inky with candied black fruits and pepper on the nose. The palate presented deep blackberries and raspberries and had the longest finish of the nite. Just tremendous. (353 views)

One of the best roses I've ever tasted. Color was dark, rich garnet color, nearly that of a light pinot or gamay. Not super fruity or sweet, but a long steady balance of berry and greeen apple that lasted and lasted! (117 views)

Excellent wine rivaling the best of the Super Tuscan type of Cab blends using Syrah instead of Sangiovese which gives it a very round and lush feel. Could use decanting for an hour or so and could easily use a few more years in the cellar. (209 views)

Deep plum pour with cherry highlights. A bit hot, but blows off after 30 to 45 minutes. Nose of earth, oak, dusty cherries and cedar box. Palate is medium bodied with tannic finish. Flavors are there, but subdued and not showing particularly well right now. This could sit for a year or more before really offering layerd flavors. Berry and oak are there...but the heat and youth over shadow what should be a darn good wine. (244 views)
