Highly recommend a decant. Initially, there was a metallic, slightly hot nose, that completely blows off after 15 minutes in the glass. Then, strawberry, framboise and garrigue notes emerge on a pinot like frame with a tannic finish (133 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

Drinking really well now. It's rippening and getting richer with light nutmeg nose and medium melon amd asian pear flavors with touch of honey. Finish is very pleasant. The viognier in this is gaining aged complexity and the marsanne richness compliments it. Can't wait to see where it's at next year. (50 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

14.8% ABV. Tasted over three days. Notes from memory. I opened this right off the truck out of curiosity. The first day, this wine was shut down and a little travel shocked. Gassed and left in the cellar, by day three it was showing better. Dark garnet in the glass. Aromas of berries and a little dried herbs. Medium-full bodied with more red berry fruit on the palate. Moderately tangy. A little bit vinous, but pretty darn good. (272 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

From a 375. Golden yellow colour, medium weight and quite a good mouthfeel. Nice balance of fruit and minerals but slightly alcoholic on the finish. There is an aftertaste that I seem to find in white rhone blends that I don't quite enjoy ... its like a mixture of lemon/licorice/bitter. 87 Improved somewhat with air, with a longer finish. 88. Had this at dinner with Grafstb who was kind enough as to bring it. This is in an amazing place at the moment. Still a beautful dark color to it almost all the way to the rim. Tobacco, earth and dark cherries jump out of the glass. Mid-weight wine with a wonderful mouthfeel to it. Great structure on this. Wonderful balance of acid and tannins (still prevalent) on the long finish. There was more to this wine than I remember, I wish I would have written a note down as it was so fantastic. (The wine director of Campanile came up to us at dinner and thanked Grafstrb for bringing it as he thought it was brilliant. That's how good this wine was!!!) Lots of barnyard on the nose which doesn't completely disappear, even with vigorous swirling. At least from smelling, this a convincing copy of Beaucastel (from the very few I've tried so far). Medium to full-bodied wine. The palate is still pretty tight and there are still abundant tannins on the finish. This needs a couple of more years to show full potential but I think it will be an excellent wine in time. (459 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

Quite well done and fair value to boot. Nothing impressive but a strong effort for the terroir. Lacking some balance, particularly between the alcohol and the fruit. (678 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |
