Napa Merlot. #1; COLOR-very dark; NOSE-beautiful blackberry, little hazelnut aspect, very dark concentrated mocha; TASTE-very ripe & explosive, little Oak, beautiful Vanilla component, heavy for a Merlot (more like a "top flight" Napa Cab), very layered fruit, nice structure, very New World, clean, ripe over-the-top fruit, but very balanced; great complexity w/ nice long finish; nice QPR for today's CA wines; WE-91; GV-90 90 points |
